A 275 GTB is different than any 360/F430 in just about every way conceivable.

IMHO, this thread is 15-20 years premature. Jury's out as to how "collectible" any of these cars will be.

Also, there are a LOT of used 458s around, for whatever reason -- but as those slip in the $100K's it's going to hard to pass that up even for the F430S/360CS.

I wouldn't bet important money on these cars, especially at current prices. That said, enjoy them if you have them.

Even if 458's drop it doesn't mean that people will automatically choose a 458 over a CS or Scud for that matter.

Lol you couldn't be more incorrect!!! At the time I was buying my Scud I could have gone 458 the price difference was only about another 20k not a big difference once I drove the Scud there was no contest!!! It is unique compared to the 458 driving experience. I wanted somethjng verry raw I could drive on the street unique and also could keep up with the best of them. The Scud just felt more Ferrari!!! A year later and couldent be happier!!! A year later I wanted something a little softer I went with a AMG SLS to scratch that itch ... But I still have my Scud :)

Maybe values will hold up. But three dominant trends now are the "stick stampede" to get the last old school gearboxes ($589K for an 599 GTB?!); an unprecedented supply of nearly new Ferraris on the secondary market (many of them 458s, with Enzo-levels of performance and the reassurance of a timing chain); and vintage and classic prices pretty much on the moon -- suggesting that collector money is moving away from modern, high tech cars. Even Boxers are $250K-300K+ now for a good one.

On the 458: It is widely regarded as a stunner in looks and performance. You can't have it with a three-pedal manual, but then the 360 CS doesn't have one either. Doesn't mean there won't be 1,300 buyers for 360 CS's in the secondary market, but holy... the 458 is hard to pass up, literally and metaphorically. One of very few post-F40 cars that tempt me constantly as the depreciation makes them more attractive by the day.

Again, time will tell. Hopefully I'm wrong and 360 CS's will hold/rise in price for their owners.

    There aren't 1300 CS's.

A Ferrari doesn't have to be "3 pedal" to be collectible. It just has to be in limited supply. How much is an Enzo now compared to 10 years ago? You're trying to tie "performance" to "value". There's no relation.

You're not taking into account the number totaled a wrecked. Yes, I realize 1300 were built. An unusually high percentage no longer exist.

I love this thread. Every time I visit back, $20-$30k added value to my beloved CS. I believe the CS is one of the most beautiful Ferraris coming out of Maranello. Supply is short, the car is in demand, the CS represents the best of an automobile era that is almost gone (with all turbos, hybrids, etc.), thus the car is going to be a collector item. I hope one day my children reap the benefits of their dad's craze for cars and sell the CS for millions!!

A picture of my car showed up here:

The CS may be on its way. I just noticed that the person who posted the picture, placed it right after an Enzo, a La Ferrari, a Bugatti Veyron, and a Pagani and before a 16M and some pretty girls!! How cool is that?
