Hi Guys just thought id say hello since I joined yesterday, I've had my 360 modena challenge now for almost 3 years, it is road legal but I didn't do many miles (about 5k miles in 3 years) I have been a Porsche guy (first car was a 911) and up until Feb my daily driver was a highly modified 997 C2.

I unfortunately crashed the 911 in the snow and was looking to part ex the 360 MC for a lambo, after driving the car again though, I couldnt bring myself to it so I have now decided to tidy her up and use it as my daily driver

might need to get winter doors for it though so I have glass side windows . . . . .

He says it is road legal, for 3 years? A challenge car road legal in the UK. This is interesting.

A friend of mine saw this car parked somewhere in London last month. A RHD, manual, road-legal, Challenge car - it doesn't get any better than that.

 

yeah I work in Mayfair alot. it was probably in the hotel car park as I have a deal with them to park it there when I go to the office.

 

Oh, he didn't say exactly where he saw it, just that he saw it; I was happy to see it, too.

Surely if it is a manual its just a regular 360 with stickers & plastic windows ?

 

it was changed to RHD and manual by the previous owner, he kept the F1 gearbox in it though so I had a specialist replace that with a low milage manual box a few years ago, still got the F1 box though, was thinking of making a coffee table out of it or something . . . . . . .

well that wasn't my doing, its been that colour for about 10 years.

I am currently procuring lots of carbon with the aim of eventually having it re sprayed black and leave the bare carbon pieces bare carbon.

that was how my 911 was, stealthy, just the way I like it

 

I could be wrong, but I though I read the f1 and 6 speed manual gearboxes were the same, just the way they were shifted was the difference.......

you are correct, apparently there is a bracket or something on the F1 anyways it wasn't shifting perfectly, so I put the manual one in and its been solid ever since.

it may have also been down to it being ragged to within a milometer of its life on every major race track in Europe for 2 years, that possibly had something to do with it

replacing it made it work how I would expect it to.

ha, yeah it was bought as a bit of a promotional tool for my business / take it to track days etc / lemans 24hr but now its a bit too shouty for me so I think its going black.

I like the idea of putting all the stickers back on it though but in matt black, so its kinda like a shadow of the race car . . . . . .

 

A road legal challenge car with a manual box. Whazoo! Something somewhat impossible to do I would imagine in the US - unless a manual street car was converted to challenge specs.
