I thought you all might find this Dino interesting. The current owners call the car "Polly" because that is the name of the women from whom they bought it.

The women, "Polly", who sold this Dino to the current owners has another original Dino under blankets in the same garage from which this Dino came. It is not for sale, because she likes the blue color and wants to hold on to it.

My wife and I own Polly. Polly belonged to one of her best friends who passed at the age of 98 this year. She had bought a new 1972 246 GT from Hollywood Sports Cars and had it painted French Blue. After driving it for a short while she decided she wanted to also buy a new 1972 GTS in red, again from Hollywood Sports Cars. She drove both cars for a number of years, accumulating approximately 20,000 miles on each. She then parked both cars in her garage with all fluids intact for over 30 years, not starting them for at least ten years. We were fortunate to buy the GTS from her son while her daughter took the French Blue GT and had it sympathetically restored. Polly is all original with the exception of the paint on the driver's side rear quarter panel, seats (the foam was rotted and the leather too thin to re-stitch) and the mechanical pieces necessary to recommission Polly for the road. She is a joy to drive and we enjoy the "funky" 70s touches such as the Cadilacesque color coded dent strips along the sides, a radio add-on to access U.S. Weather Stations across the United States (if they still exist) and the front bumper. We have the original tools and jack in careful storage. Unfortunately, Polly had misplaced all the manuals so at this time we only have reproductions.

It s awesome that you have kept it as original as possible.

I am guessing "Polly" was Polly Wilson.

She did not buy the car new.

    It was delivered 10/12/1972.

Thanks Shawn. When I sat down with Polly to discuss the cars she was a bit vague but I always wondered if the GTS had been a Demo or even a return, although I knew she took title in 1972. Any other information? And yes, it was Polly Wilson.

The first owner had it for at least a year. I don't know if they were in some way related or not.

Does a name "Mer*******" mean anything that you know of?
