agree with the noise issue. Disagree with ''put anyone in these cars''. It's quite obvious that drivers can still make the difference.

It's had to watch a 2015 car when we've seen the 2004 cars there is nothing good about f1 right now . The sound is one thing but the lack of refueling mean you have to as Michael Schumacher would say roll around impo the rules need to be opened up on if you need to make 10 pit stops to win that's OK . Give us a race first to cross the line wins not who looks after there stuff if I want that I will watch sports cars

+2, the comments from Max Verstoppen and Kimi's trainer about how much less physically demanding these cars are to drive from the previous generations does not instill the mystique that these are the ultimate cars that are very difficult to drive. I think Ferrari's resurgence will help viewing figures, but if Mercedes runs away with this season I think you will see the viewership numbers drop off significantly. The race attendance at the German GP as well as several other tracks should be a major concern. Those in charge of the sport should judge their next moves very carefully, the current state is exceedingly expensive due to the PUs and not very compelling for the viewer to watch. There is a lot of competition for the viewer these days, if viewership dwindles, the difficulty in obtaining sponsorship will just increase. Highest costs with less return will not bode well for the long term sustainability of Formula 1.

My new girlfriend is watching the races with me and is already annoyed with the rules and one team winning every race. They aren't attracting new fans imo and are steadily losing the old ones.

It's telling that every fan on every chat board is complaining about the sport.

Not so much the German GP this year. It has been dropped from the schedule!!!

Sad state of affairs for the once great Formula 1.

Warwick repeats with more weight and authority what many F1 followers think.

The cost-cutting measures are wrongly applied: the remedy is slowly killing the patient.

Come to think of it, it's exactly the same in politics: the austerity measures destined to reduce the budget deficit are slowly destroying the economy - in UK at least, and Greece, and Spain, and Italy, etc ...

Like in politics, F1 should change the decision-makers and seek a new strategy.

The moment they wake up and realize that F1 is supposed to be a sport, and not a show, then it will thrive. Otherwise, it's just a fake thing.

Been like that for years B, thing is this, I was sceptical when Todt took over, but IMO, getting shut of Mosley was the best thing that happened to the sport in years, in regards to the rule book.

    Not these days.

The MB dominance is, at best, a symptom of the problem.

F1 has made the transition from true sporting event to mostly entertainment event.
Glamour, glitz, all show and now go = recipe for success. Look at the music business, the movie business, etc.

Obviously they need to do something about the noise and the speed of the cars. It's sad when 16-18 year old kids can jump in the cars and be competitive and the cars are so slow that GP2 cars could be making the field. Think about that...compare a GP2 budget to F1, and they sound much better too!

It was good when F1 drivers could mix with F2 drivers, or cross the Atlantic and race against Indy drivers or participate in CanAm.

    We have lost that eclecticism.

This. And why Bernie had been slowly killing F1 since he took over. His impacts are now being strongly felt.

I miss F-1 from the early 90's. 1990 - 1993 were the absolute golden age for F1. with 92 about the highest in technology out there. it was not a great time for Ferrari, but the cars just looked amazing! as well as sounded astounding.

Problem is, with Bernie's idea of F1 is minting money, and in the process, making it fake. He's only concern abut manufacturers. Not the privateers. Look at the past. And then look now. It's a real shame.
