    Exactly.

I was privileged to hear the 6-time World Champion's thoughts in a private conversation at dinner on Friday night, and I must confess I'll take them over those of the plethora of armchair experts sounding off everywhere.

    Enjoy the fight!

As much as I respect the great Sugar Ray, I wouldn't follow fighters picks, they are often wrong, and make predictions without conviction. But this fight is easy to pick. Pacquiao has not one advantage in the fight except activity which will make it interesting for the first 5-6 rounds, after that Mayweather will teach him to keep his hands to himself. Pacquiao will get discouraged, and take major punishment. I can see him getting cut up pretty bad too.

I hope you guys aren't too disappointed. Mayweather has never been in an exciting fight, what makes one think at 38 he's going to get in one now, which would mean taking punishment. The money is already made.

Ray has a pretty good track-record with big fight forecasts.

    He agrees with yours.

Okay it looks like the fight is not going to be shown in theaters, so that means an individual can't get close to the fight for under $100.00. Ridiculous. I guess I'll miss it, either that or go to some noisy annoying bar. Yeah that's not happening either!

What people pay for sporting events is insane. There's going to be allot of people mad at themselves on Sunday.

It's also odd that amongst 50 writers and ex fighters it's 46-4 in favor of Mayweather. I guess I'm stupid, but for a $100 "Fight of the Century" the other guy should have more of a shot at it.

We won't have too long to see if the 46 are all wrong, will we?

Either way, it'll be fun, and I don't suspect it'll change the life of anyone reading this one iota.

As for the $100, I think that's what you call market-value. I understand if anyone wants to miss it, but I'd rather miss some of the lesser fights at half the price and pay up for a once-in-a-generation monumental event. Definitely watching, and I know a handful of people who will actually be there.

That's right about changing peoples life's. I refuse to be a Mayweather sucker. I just think it should be more of a pick'em fight for that kind of money, but still wouldn't pay it. Ha.

It'll be cool if it's shown in theaters seriously. Sports bars in the city I'm currently in are fully booked.

Hey Bull Run :), if you're so cock sure people who bet on Pacquiao will lose, did you bet on Money May?

I didn't vote, and don't bet. I just think it's stupid, but as the fight draws closer I'm beginning to fear poor Manny is going to get a frightful beating. I think Mayweather will stop him late..... err the referee will stop it.

In the 90's I watched a Holyfield fight at a Sports Bar in Santa Monica, and the charged atmosphere made it a lot of fun!

It may seem pointless, but, voting & betting are ways in which people express their preferences in an organized & civilized way, with the point being that this is a legitimate way for them to feel involved. Its not stupid, just not something you prefer. As for the fight, I think despite the perceived FM advantage, anything can happen.

To say "I will not pay the $100" is one thing.

But to describe those who will as a "Mayweather sucker" is quite another.

Relax. I think you are taking this event way too seriously, there is no need to describe anyone willing to buy this fight as a sucker, of any kind.

If you're going to name-call, then many buyers are 'Pacquiao suckers' too, as he is the other paid prizefighter that millions are purchasing the fight for, in the hopes of seeing him win. The bottom line is, nobody buying this fight is a "sucker", everyone is simply exercising their choice as a consumer to purchase a sports program for the purposes of nothing more than entertainment.

This is a sports contest, but its also a much-anticipated historic event where both the stakes & the prize-money are high, so, naturally, the pay-per-view costs are higher than normal. I find nothing wrong with this open-market concept, neither do millions who are happy to pay the going rate. Those who are not happy to pay are understandably exercising their prerogative, but they'll hardly be missed.

Regarding the point you make that you view this fight as without even a "pick-em" forecast to make it worthwhile: Lets remember, either of the two men who step in the ring on Saturday can lose. Most people accept this and this is exactly why millions will watch. I actually wouldn't mind seeing Mayweather lose, and if Pacquaiao earns that victory, good for him. And vice versa. I have a lot of respect for Pacquiao, and in fact I was there at ringside at the MGM Grand to see him beat Marquez on November 12, 2011. Anyone who follows boxing knows that even though the fighting styles in this matchup favor Mayweather, Pacquiao has a respectable chance. So far as its a great fight, we're all happy, and if its not, well, sometimes you take your chances. That's why most will watch, in expectation of the expected, or the unexpected, that's the whole excitement, to see what happens! Anything can happen when 2 men step in the ring, and a characterization of this fight as a sure-thing for Mayweather is anything but reality.

This fight is an opportunity to help re-popularize the sport, and for many boxing fans who continually bemoan the decline of the sport, here is a chance to support it.

Sky in the UK is doing a PPV for £20. Trying to figure out if you need to have a skybox or can watch it online on their site as well.

    $100 is ridiculous :(.

If you throw a party and get a bunch of people to watch $100 is reasonable. Thats what most people do.

If you watch by yourself then $100 is ridiculous.

Thanks mate, appreciate you sharing the champs thoughts. :)

I am going enjoy it, absolutely! And I hope you enjoy it also. :)

I was fortunate enough to go to a sports bar in Honolulu in November 2009 with the Wife on our honeymoon to watch Pacquiao stop Cotto. :)

The place was full of Filipinos and the atmosphere was amazing!

When I go to the local pubs to watch him, the local Filipino community comes out in force and it's great to see those guys so proud of their superstar.

It's AU $60 here in Aussie land. I was happy to pay that and would have paid $100 not a problem.

Yep, definitely go and enjoy it with them if you can mate, you will not regret it. :)

What's wrong with paying $100 to watch it alone? :p

Some people enjoy the quiet and privacy of their own home and $100 is not a lot of money to most people. :)

I paid to have it put on at my friends place. He is Filipino and looks like a 60 yr old Manny Pacquio without any hair. :p

He doesn't know this yet, but I bought him a MP t shirt and I will give it to him when I go over that morning. He is going to LOVE it. :D

We are going there with a few work friends to watch the fight and I was happy to pay for it. We are having a BBQ and he is also inviting around 10 of his Filo mates, so it will be a crazy event. Those guys go nuts with every punch thrown.

They also stand and sing the national anthem and I have watched many of Pac's fights with my Filo mate that I know how to sing the majority of the Filipino national anthem with him also.

Hope you enjoy the fight with your mates. :)
