Yes, maybe a record asking price, but it looks pretty complete to me. There is a separate thread on 3X8 toolkits, and there is no real conclusion on what is correct / not correct. If you want the real deal, you may want to put your money on this one.

Is the kit for the glass cars actually unique from all the other carbed cars' kits ??

If so, I guess it would be quite rare and fetch the same premium that the glass car itself gets.

If not, then that seems like a sucker price to me.

It's a standard kit in average condition, worth about 700 USD/EUR

Using one of these original tool kit items to repair your car is being a thief of your own pocket with these prices.

No, it is the same as an early steel car, not anything special about it.
That kit looks like the one I recently sold to the Uk for 1,200USD.

But I think the 'glass car owner was glad to have it so not selling.

That pouch looks FAR better, even new.

So my guess is those are period correct tools, in an unused pouch.
Those are the correct set for a 1976 -77 NON CAT carbed 308GTB

They were ALL GTBs, you know....;)

Black pliers are earlier than the plated ones, followed by the orange handles of later kits.

Sellers can ask whatever they'd like... buyers aren't paying those prices. Tool kits are legitimately trading for between $800-1,200 depending on condition and completeness/correctness.
