Disconnect the odometer

Why not just put the car on jack stands after every drive, put in reverse and let her run til all the days mileage is erased. This way no one can see you were screwing with the connection. We all have been doing this for years.

 

Uhmm and we wonder why nobody believes the car only has 4,873 km

Well ok, that was a faux car, with faux miles, maybe you can't erase faux Ferrari miles, but that shouldn't deter an effort to erase REAL Ferrari miles, should it?

The Odo reading only matters if you are selling the car and want to fool a prospective buyer into believing the car has less mileage than it really does.

Since you are never selling it, why bother?

What you are talking about is illegal in many places. Furthermore, if you aren't going to sell your car why do you care about the miles on it? Generally, people that want to do what you are speaking of do it to deceive future buyers so they can ask a higher price when they sell the car. Although, I can't imagine anyone trusting anything you represent about your car after they read your post seeking information about how to tamper with the odometer.

 

Just put a sticker on the odo man...

 

Put some electrical tape over the glass to cover the odometer only. You won't have to look at the miles until you someday decide to sell it and your mechanic can still record your mileage upon service during your annuals.

I always wondered if I could do the same thing with my wife.

 

Go ahead and post a picture of the car and the Vin, then we'll tell how to to put that pesky odometer on a switch. We do it here in the U.S. All the time. It's kind of a secret though, don't tell anyone who doesn't have a Ferrari
