    It's baaaaaaack, Espada Dog. :D

I saw that THERE when I was first shopping for my Espada. It looks like they put the parts back together bit not much else has changed.

I'm not surprised that no one has done much with it.

Looks like a dog. Does it have a suspect history? On ebay several times?

Looking at the advert reminded me that my Espada has a somewhat "patinated" interior, which I intend to have redone next winter. Does anyone have a clue what that might reasonably cost? Having the seat leather made with exactly the same perforations as the originals? Aside this everything new, including door panel and instrument dash?

That would make it look nearly perfect inside and outside. And I myself sit more time looking at the inside than from the outside :D.

15.000 € that's what it will cost you in Germany at Finest -care GmbH
    HOME - finest care

call 0821/74797-730 and ask for Hubert with my recommendation...

you can also go to Paratelli in Italy, he is perfect ex factory contractor, but a little bit expensive

Thank you very much, Olivier, I already have contact with Hubert Ehleitner due to a kind recommendation from another Ferrari owner and I am happy that you have confirmed this particular recommendation with respect to the Espada interior.

Hello, it has taken a few months but i read all the 198 pages. Its time to introduce myself , but first i want to say thank you for all the info i have been able to find here.

My name is Alberto and i am in Madrid, Spain.

Espada 400 GT 8570 is at home since 1.982 when my father bought it and i hope it stays now with me many more years after i bought it from my family last winter.
    Silver with black interior.
Silver wheels now, but they were golden before. I did not find out yet if they were originally golden like those in that brown Espada for sale or silver like they are painted now.
84.500 km, running nicely and smoothly. I like it very much. That sound...and a picture.

One interesting thing is what I think is the integration of a speaker grill in the door.
I've seen something like that on another Espada, maybe even identical?

Do you know how that came to be on this car?

i do not remember if the car had originally speakers in the door. Those were added in the 90´s when we had the car like a "Pioneer show car". One day i´ll try to change them for speakers from the 70´s if i find them.

    Thanks.I think i´ve seen it.
I want them like they left the factory. How can i know without taking all the paint out?

Silver with silver car is nice , and golden with silver is more "aggressive" but i like it also.

I think the later style wheels like yours will be a lot easier to have painted.
I believe they too are a magnesium alloy so you do have to check for corrosion, deal with it and prep the wheels properly. There are a number of threads on Fchat in various locations about this.

I responded to someone's inquiry recently and I know I posted some information in the Islero thread about doing the Miura style wheels. Have a look there. Those wheels are a lot of work but the general principles still apply. The generic color is known as Argent silver which matched the inside of my spare wheel perfectly. Your available paint supplier will have a specific formula for that color. I used a single stage enamel. Silver with a clear over it is technically not correct but people still do it. It is YOUR car after all. You might be able to have those style wheels powdercoated by someone who knows how to do that with magnesium alloy.

Purely a personal opinion - gold wheels with silver - uggh. :D

Not that I know of. I just saw it at the same place for sale several years ago like maybe 8?
I don't think it was on eBay at that time. It's been put back together and is now for sale again so maybe it just languished there all these years and more recently they slapped it back together then put it on eBay?

Bob, I had thought the silver was White Aluminum with code ral 1006 (I think)? Something else perhaps? Maybe that is a body paint color or 80's wheel paint.

    Hi Peter,

When I began my wheels project for the Espada I researched some of the older posts and found a few from Jeff Stephan on this topic. So I emailed and called him. He's the one who pointed me towards the argent silver as well as some techniques for making a bit easier. The easy part never quite materialized ... LOL :D. It matched my wheel's interiors? It's what he uses for his customers.

Could it be that something else is close as well? Sure.

Probably not. I just had my Urraco original set painted 1006. There is a slight metallic in it and it does not match the original finish I have on some other wheels.

I chose 1006 for a couple of reasons. It looks good but not factory. Like some others, they are being re-cleared because it was too glossy.

Second and more important, the car is not its original color. The plan was that if, and when I get the car to the original color, the wheels will to.

I am checking on them later today. If they have to be reblasted, I might go Argent.

In any event, the wheel had to be painted. They looked sprayed from a can and I never did anything about it......

What I did was to buy myself a rattle can of argent silver I forget whose it was. When I was satisfied that it was close enough for me I then I got ppg argent silver acrylic enamel with dxr80 hardener.
