my 458 Italia factory pics

here it is, all built and ready to be air freighted from the factory. should have it next week hopefully. funny enough, this car was ordered way after my Speciale order and built before my Speciale is started.

one thing is confusing to me though -- first picture clearly shows the fender cutout for shields but car was ordered and built without shields.

also, not sure why I can't post photos here -- I guess I will just have post URLs for now:

Anonymous, when you have time, could you write down the caption (the factory description) for the 1st photo (the chassis in grey)? I should have noted it but for some reason can't now access my Ferrari account.

Interested in why you have decided to order a new 458 and Speciale, at a similar time? Also, is that a Rosso Fuoco? Looks great and love the black roof thing.

 

The photo process apparently isn't perfect. My first photo showed a primed Cali T instead of the 458 Italia that I ordered. The second photo looks like my car. The final assembly photo shows a primed Speciale. Derek from FoD was nice enough to track down the real final assembly photo for me. It doesn't make it arrive any quicker, but it does give me something to look forward to.

 

Here is how mine read:

Location: Paintwork

Your car's body is now in the paint technologies area. It is currently a neautral color - this is due to the application of the undercoat which will be followed by further paint applications.

Awesome but curious why you ordered a new italia and speciale at the same time?

 

these are the last of naturally aspirated cars. this is the peak of what a naturally aspirated V8 engine can do in terms of performance and output. and they just won't be making them anymore. so... why not?

I remember being told something along the lines of those photos actually being one photo, and people are in fact receiving the same photo when the car is at this stage. Except for the shields, they all look alike at this stage, so it kinda makes sense from a time saving point of view I guess. Not agreeing, just sayin'.

As much as I love cars I can imagine better things to do with 300K other than having two cars from the same model.. That's just me though and the f458 in that color combo is awesome.
