    Yet another post editing topic.....

Will the admins please consider allowing the Original Poster to edit the first post in a thread indefinitely?

Often in a long technical thread (such as one going on in the 308 section now) it would be handy (if the OP was willing to make the effort) to keep updating their first post with relevant details and answers to questions. This functionality is used quite extensively and is very beneficial on, for instance, the XDA forums.

The time stamps are an important part of the record of the posts. I for one appreciate how seeing the history of how information evolves.

Interesting perspective. I like history, but I'm not that much of a historian to enjoy that. I just had to sort through 6 pages of a thread to find where the OP disclosed what his carb jetting was. I just want to find the relevant highlights. But, FWIW, you'd still be able to find how the information trickled out if the OP kept updating the first post with the important details. :)

With a megalomaniac or two on board, the theological implications are staggering.

This shouldn't be enabled for the Politics & Religion subscribed forum!

Maybe the OP could ADD to their first post???

That was tried years ago. Turns out to be a bad idea, because folks can edit their posts to place respondents in a negative light.

I guess that's a problem with the adversarial nature that's so prevalent here on Fchat.
It's a wonderful thing in a supportive community like XDA.

I mean, it's not like I was suggesting EVERYBODY be able to ALWAYS edit their posts, nor that it be possible in Politics & Religion!

    So that's a bummer...
