Yes. It means they did not dial in the cams. An SD2 will give you some indication of the timing adjustment.

It all depends. If cam timing was known by service facility to be on the mark (perhaps from previous work), then some may not find it necessary to degree the cams again...

 

Seen the silver gated coupe in Hemmings ? Not sure if Silver was one of your colors.

I think low high 50's to low 60's is a good price on this car. The miles, dash and spotty history had me walking away and I'm local too. It seems like dealers everywhere are putting crazy high prices on cars and hoping for the best. Sometimes they get a sucker sometimes they don't... Look at air-cooled 911 prices, laughable!

 

I wasn't thinking I would get it in the high 50's, but I figured somewhere between 60-65.... Last I heard they had two people considering 67k so if they can get it, more power to them.
I should note as well I was figuring 60-65 before I realized the dash separated on the upper area. Shame, b/c that air bag cover looks perfect. The dealer seems to think that their history is "good enough" and won't concede that it's a detriment to someone buying a higher mile car.

If they don't agree then they won't sell, simple, move on. I've seen lots of cars I thought were overpriced but couldn't convince the seller lol.

They probably know there are more buyers than 6spds right now.

 

Well I will admit, it would have been great if the start aligned, but at this point they aren't... I'll bide my time and if it sits longer with no buyer then maybe they'll come calling and at that point start the dialog again.

 

I'm on my 4th Ferrari. Went against my better judgement with the first one and got completely ripped off. Absolutely go with what YOU think the car is worth but be willing to move on if it's not working out. Be prepared to have to work a bit harder for a 6spd (which in hindsight I wish I'd done with the current car). Good luck.

 

I agree it is a $60-65k car, esp with the mileage (kind of high). But you know, dealers generally have higher asking prices plus am sure they want a premium for the manual tranny. If dealer wants $67k and that is your "ceiling," I'd make that offer PENDING ppi AND correction of all major issues found. Closer to $70k, I'd move on to a 2000 (with lower mileage) or maybe a 2001. Car is a consignment so wouldn't any concessions are coming off the owners share? I've heard two numbers that this was listed for last fall, 67 and 69, wish I knew what it really sold for.

 

Yes. Consignment fee is usually 10% of how much the car sells for. Before I sold my 328 last year, I talked to a dealer and contemplated on putting it on consignment. I thought, to minimize my loss bec of consignment fee, I have to increase my asking price. And also, increase the price further for even a few thousand bucks to maximize dealer (or my) profit. (But I ended up selling privately).

 

Wheelman- I'm in GR and saw this car the other day. I have a car for sale there at the moment and have sold multiple other cars there. They charge a flat rate for consignment cars. If you would like to know particulars shoot me a PM. Yes any reduction in price comes off the sellers end.
