I get the TV time - but that is what the sponsors pay for as well. So economically you can charge more as more time on tv gives more ad time exposure etc...

The cars are pretty fast now and there is no attrition as there was before - it is a total sprint ... its over so quick no time for casual fans to understand what is going on.

I've been saying for years that FIA needs to get Lewis Hamilton on Oprah, sensationalize the whole girl friend thing with Nicole Scherzinger ... that would play huge to American audiences - all of a sudden you would open up new sponsor opportunities.... then more money - and you can afford more tech and testing etc...

what we are seeing today is a buisness that is trying to preserve its Cash flow - with no plan for future expansion other than new races that have a shelf life of 24- 36 months.

Yeah more nutjob Hamilton fans that will disappear in 2 years is what this sport needs.

Less regulation is needed. It doesn't have to be relevant, it has to be exciting. People want to see battles for positions. You know its bad when you're watching 8-9-10 battles while 1-2 are 30 seconds ahead of the pack, 3-7 are floating along. It needs to be open testing and costs need to be brought down. Bernie and Co have enough, its time for some of us lowly poor fans to get some entertainment.

The last 5 years, when was the excitement? RB running away with the championship or Mercedes running away with the championship. Ferrari putting a win every once in a while but still not competitive enough.

If by purist you mean Mossback, sure.
    :)

There's no doubt that Bernie and Co. don't trust the sport to be interesting enough on its own.

What you say about Spain 2013 vs. 2015 is true...but something doesn't add up...

The same cannot be said for Australia 2013 vs. 2015 (pole for 2015 was faster than pole for 2013). Malaysia was virtually the same pole to pole 2013 vs 2015. China's 2013 pole was a bit quicker than 2015's pole, but none of these other examples are anywhere close to a 2013 backmarker running quicker than a 2015 pole setter.

    Oh, please no !!

We don't need to trivialise what is a marvellous sport of its own with more titillation about Hamilton's love life!

Oprah Witney? Pass me the sick bucket, I feel I need to puke!
F1 don't need that kind of audience, thank you !

I hope sponsors and F1 followers won't fall into the trap of cheap sensationalism to adverise what was a very good sport until recently.

Since the Americans believe they are the centre of the universe, they decided that they would make their own version of English. I guess they didn't like the original.

    I think that's probably a fair assessment.

I imagine the Canadians did the same with French. Would that be right?

In Quebec, they speak 15th century French, and they have created most of their new vocabulary independently from France, so you can imagine.
But mostly their intonation is different, which makes them very difficult to be understood by the French.

    Talk about holding a grudge.

An Aussie complaining about Americans butchering the mother tongue. That is rich!

huh? ever been to Newcastle or York? people from London find it hard to understand when they get talking quick!

French Canadian has evolved from early French settlers who were stranded here after the 100 Years war - European speak or French & Indian war to us in the USA.

    Heard from a comedian:

"We Brits speak using our throat and our tongue, the Americans mostly vibrate their palate to emit noise through their nose, the Australians simply talk through their ass !"

    No offense intended ...
