I found it at Half Price Books, for $20.

    "Memories of James Hunt"
    Christopher Hilton

This is a very interesting collection of memories, from people that knew him.
Reading it, it almost seems he had a personality defect.......or a drug habit.

    Hard to tell, really!
    He was fast though.....

Point well taken. So much of the world today is bilingual with English as a second language.Of course any book of 50/100 or more pages of text would require a separate edition/printing for an English volume. This would involve considerable additional expense but would make it reach a considerably wider audience. What might work is a paperback edition at a price equal to or more than the original language addition.Any volume on a subject of less than would mass appeal would require considerable thought.I suppose an English language paperback offered with the original with might be a possibility. tongascrew

Thanks to assistance from FChat member Casino Square I have determined that the books are called Classic Companions and were published in England by a company called Bozeat Palmer. Unfortunately they are no longer in production.

If any FChatters, especially those in the UK, could help me source one I would really appreciate it.

    Many thanks.

I think their history of the Monza 1000 Km should have been done in English, and this Baracca book would be another candidate. But I do have all of Giorgio Piola's annual Formula 1 technical reviews and the book on Forghieri in English, for instance.

#1"Ferrari 250 LM" by Marcel Massini; Osprey Pub.1983;196 pages;hard back. No inclusive collection should be without this. However only chapter 2 pages 28-49 are devoted to the design and development of these cars. The rest of the book is devoted to pictures, provenance and racing results of each chassis up to only 1983. #2" Ferrari by Vignale" by Marcel Massini; Italian/English;198 pages;Nada Pub.1993 ;soft back. Another should have but.... Pages 11-40 are very informative about the unique design and construction of the Michelotti body work. The balance is provenance of each Ferrari chassis clothed by Vignale with photographs of most, up to 1993.You decide if you need this.#3 Ferrari DINO SPs by John Godfrey; Patrick Stephens LTD; hard back 1990; 192 pages. One of the very best tomes of a particular Ferrari type. The first 56 pages are devoted to specific details of the design, construction and development with excellent pictures. Carlo Chiti, Richie Ginther. Romolo Tavoni and Euginio Dragoni are all involved. But the venerable Vittorio Jano is the real champion of the cause. With excellent detailed text and pictures the author describes in detail how these type cars and their problems came into being for the first time at Ferrari. The rest of the volume is devoted the turbulent competition histories of each chassis. It took E.F. too long to accept disc brakes and the mid engine design but in their first two years the SPs won two world championships. This volume is a must have.Enjoy tongascrew

Ah ha! But the old Italian Forghieri book has a description of the women that surrounded
the "pilots" that is missing from the new English edition even though it is longer.

    Hello everyone.
I had an old, Magazine was looking forward in Japan. ('80s late)
It is "VINTAGE FERRARI MAGAZINE". It was a magazine that is similar to a "CAVALLINO"
However, Only #1 has been sent... Will it have disappeared in only the First issue?
    Thereafter, the magazine happened to?
    Regards,
    Kamegorou.

I have a copy which is #1433 of 4000 dated 1988 published by Vintage Ferrari Magazine,Inc Edina Minnesota, issue #1 March/April 1988.Of note are two feature articles on 08891 GTB and 0744 412MI both with copies of the build sheets. This issue was an indication of what could have followed but never did. A copy shows up on the internet from time to Time. tongascrew

    Some sad news.
Denise McCluggage, 1927-2015: Journalist, jokester, auto racer broke barriers for women - The Santa Fe New Mexican: Features

I had the good fortune to spend a few minutes talking to Denise on June 6th last year prior to the 1st Annual Colorado Concours Motoring Legends Forum in Denver. I went specifically to ask her about Phil Hill and the article that she wrote about him in the 1959 Fuller Brush Magazine.

Afterward, near the end of the panel discussion with Denise, Jim Stranberg, and Dennis Little, the topic turned to winners at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Someone speculated that a Preservation Class car might soon take top honors. Denise quipped "I'm beyond preservation. I'm ready for a full restoration."

    RIP Denise

    Jeff

    Jeff,

There are a couple of threads going about Denise if you'd like to take a look.

I just happen to have that Fuller Brush magazine as well as several other contemporary mainstream periodicals that featured Phil Hill.

Doug Nye said recently in another forum that "Inside Track" is back on track (heh) and should be out next spring. I'm hopeful but also skeptical. He strongly implied that it will be a stunning piece of work.

OK, so they were closer to hand than I first realised.
The issue on the right is 'Issue Number One' as already mentioned by tongascrew, the issue on the left is a 'Preview Edition' of only 28 pages that was distributed free of charge.
This preview issue contains an article on 500 Mondial # 0580 with comparison images and text with 0536.
Also included are the results and images of the 1987 Chicago Sun-Times International Challenge where Karl Dedolph is photographed in 250 GT lwb Interim Berlinetta 1521 GT and also Michael Leventhal in 250 GT swb Berlinetta # 2701 GT.

If you were around in the 1950s and 60s and more, this volume will bring it all back to you.And if you weren't, read this and you will get a good idea of what you missed. She was there in the thick of it and really captures the whole scene. Also remember, behind the wheel she was very fast and behind the pen a great story teller. If you aren't already get to know this lady. Respectfully tongascrew

#1 "Ferrari Argentina/Sports Cars"; Hard back,337 pages,#0660/1500;2008. During the 1950s-60s Ferraris from 166-225 to 625/750 and 375 were imported into Argentina.Wealthy men bought these for their own racing efforts and some just for their sons a few of whom were to young to even have a drivers licence.Parts were regularly air freighted from Italy and cars were bought, traded, loaned out etc regularly. One car was traded for a gun collection.Another owner had his private plane flying low ahead of the car to keep the vultures off .Many more entertaining tales and photos and an exceptional listing of all the results of the major competition events. Very unique, entertaining and something for everyone. Enjoy. #2 "Ferrari, Salute To The Spyder" by Henry Rasmussen, 1991,132 pages.hard back;A nice book for someone still new to the Ferrari thing.Ten different models are selected from the 166 Barchetta to the 365 Daytona with one chassis from each model discussed.Nice informative text and pictures. Why the 365 California was included and not one of the PF !,!!,!!! cars is questionable. Most cars selected are road cars with the exception of the 375+ and the 250 TR. Probably to jazz things up. Will encourage readers to want to know more.Enjoy. tongascrew

And Haynes is continuing their series of "Owners' Workshop Manuals" (now, really?) on famous racing cars.

The following are all due out before the end of the year, along with a similar volume on the Williams FW14B for which cover art has not been displayed yet.

The Red Bull book is an expanded second edition of their 2011 book, with 40 additional pages to cover 4 additional years, which sounds like a tall order.

    Hello!
Mr.tongascrew, Mr.thepinkumbrella and everyone. Thank you for teaching!
Since that magazine was hoping to become a rival of "CAVALLINO", it is regrettable.
Apparently (Vintage Only). Is it's the impossible...
