Niki Lauda said it too. Lewis made the first call because his tires lose temperature

Oh FFS, the Sky people are UTTERLY PATHETIC.

You'd think a billion people had just been killed.

"Oh Lewis. How do you go on from here."...

What a complete and utter joke.

The guy is still in front of the championship and will more than likely win it.

It's amazing how when a similar **** up happens to any other driver, it's

    "Oh well, no big deal".

Yes maybe if has been said Lewis made the call to come in, it stopped the red mist descending on him, for sure fighting up against a seasoned WDC on a street circuit is by no means an easy feat.

Better to take the points than crash..

Vet done good for the reds.

+27. Never thought I'd witness a second Senna 'moment' here but this one is a clone of sorts. Both drivers experienced torpor due to the relative ease of controlling the race without concern. If Group 44 had battled early to gain a significant lead, I doubt he would have remained as complacent with the call.

Association Football is too big a mouthful. It was simplified for the rest of the world to "Soccer".

Not when it's your own call.

Lewis should man up, seriously. He's be a million times more likeable if he just admits stuff like that.

That's not what Niki said on German TV (RTL+), Niki said they had to look into the way things unfolded, before making a full statement....

    He also was a bit of a sore loser to put part of the blame onto Verstappen cuasing the incident that let to Mercedes's mistake;

Which is rather unfair (too put it midly); Verstappen isn't allowed to make mistakes allthough he's a rooky, but Mercedes is, becuase their a professional, long time winning team.....sure....

I think Merc. is al little too sloppy these days, not the first time they are being a little bit too comfortable with their lead.....Time for change.

If they make it dramatic, it feeds "the show". It only matters when it's at the front of the grid. Had it happened to Nico instead, that would have been an equally pounce-able moment for the media.

I don't have Sky, but the interviewer who spoke to Lewis on the podium was doing some of the hyper-dramatization of the moment ('how will you go on after losing Monaco like this?')

The team (including Lewis) made a mistake that cost him a race win. The season isn't over...he just has work to do to make up for it.
