My "sister" Kim who I have known since we were both 13yrs old is doing some great humanitarian work. She and I have been through some shat together yet throughout the decades we never lost touch and never lost our love for each other. Kim is once again back in Africa, Uganda this time, and helping with water wells so fresh water can be had. When she returns home she is going to help/assist me with funding so I can go with her next year. Once she gets back we will try to set up a donation site if anyone would like to donate and help.

I am just so dang proud of her and she has always been selfless in her endeavors. I rambled again didn't I?

I'd give. Sounds like what we used to do in Africa.

What will you do with your place while you are gone?

I'm pretty sure it's not just 'his' place... other family members live there, too.

I live with my mom who's health is questionable but does it really matter where I live? I know you are just asking so I am just answering, no ill will intended. ;)

I just have this huge desire to help others and I thought this opportunity would be worthy. Kim is on her way back home to Texas after a long month there so I will talk with her later and have more details, a link to her church, regarding donations for me next year.

    Thanks.

You can't ever help someone else until all your own ducks are in a row. Lots of attempts on this forum that you have shat on. Get yourself in order first, then help her. When a person is strong in body, mind, and business, THEN he can help others who are not. Lots of people use the "I just concentrate on others" crutch as an excuse about their own stuff. You have shown plenty of your own here. Fix those.

    Then help others.

It's not going to be today or tomorrow.

Good advice. Not to rain on the dudes parade or anything, just good advice in general. I have heard this referred to as the airplane plan, as in "Put your mask on first..." if you catch my drift. No disrespect indented to anyone.

So does this mean you will not donate? Since you have all your ducks in a row will you be my therapist?

Chris, a guy who really does have his **** together (married, kid, education, successful business, home on the water, toys, etc.), tried to offer you some very sound advice. Instead of listening, you made a joke out of it. Why?

    Think about that.

If/when you have the donation site up and running I will look into it and determine where the $ goes and if I will add it to our list of causes. Post up when you have it all organized. While it is not the only "I'm about to" project you have posted, I will not discount it simply because it originated from you versus someone else.

As to question 2, I am not trained for that so I will decline.

I'm asking because I am flat out stunned you even started a thread about how odd it would be to move in with your parents when you can't get a job or afford a home when in fact you live with your parents because you can't get a job or afford a home.

I like you but seriously bro, what's wrong with you?

    Gregg,

You seem like a friendly and supportive individual however something is missing. I have read a number of your threads and have provided some advice in a few. The same trend continues. You are searching and grabbing onto anything that comes your way. I cannot count the number of potential professions you have chased and now a philanthropic venture.

This is normal for someone in their teens/early twenties not for someone over 30. This has been stated by others. What you really need is focus. I mean long term focus not a week at a time.

I am not certain you have the insight to recognize what the other forum members clearly see. I would recommend you go back over the past two years and read all of your threads related to your potential employment. You hopefully will have a better understanding of why certain members respond the way they do.

I wish you the best and would love to read a future thread informing us that you finally found some LONG term employment stability in your life.

    Train wreck.

OP, from your various threads here in the OT section you sound like a guy with good intentions but no direction.
Instead of taking on another project, perhaps focus on what's currently on your plate? Job.. brother... stability... etc.

I looked back a his last 10 or so threads. With this new (to me) information, he sounds like a habitual liar.

Get your plan together and go!

Get out of that house and launch into the adventure you have planned. And, don't look back or go back. Always think how your plan will sustain you going forward. Everyone here is chiming it to say make a plan that gets you to the stage of family life you want. Pick ONE plan and move forward. Always move forward.

    Good luck Gregg!

PS - Take lots of suntan lotion & mosquito repellent when you head off to Uganda :D

Shouldn't one have life going smoothly and somewhat successful before they can help others lead a successful life. By success I don't necessarily mean lots of money. One could be a Wal-Mart greeter and still be successful at life.

He's a 50+ year old man that lives at his moms and his life revolves around internet forums, come on guys we have all seen this movie before.....Next few weeks will be something new, different and just as pointless. I learned a long time ago to not feed the trolls.
