Old photo of a California dealer with a very early Dino and 275 GTB. Does that 275 have a hood scoop in the picture?? https://www.flickr.com/photos/67827566@N00/13440025274/in/photostream/
Yes and that Dino is a alloy 206 GT. That 275 GTB long nose 2 cam? I think does have a hood scoop vent. Can anyone identify. This was taken in 1970/1971 before the modifications by owners trying to jack up collector car prices had began. Other than Tom Meade doing it maybe I would say this looks like a factory new body.
09657 did have such scope on hood in 70's... All these so-called factory's options are just owners's phantasms...
Could be. Here is Marcel Massini's overview of the car you quoted. It looks like the car in the picture might have flares, but looks also like it is missing the headlight surrounds. 9657 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "N O T, I repeat NOT, owned by Omar Sharif as so often reported. Delivered new to Motor SpA in Rome, Italy. Heavily customised in France years later. In the 70s and 80s with various dealers on the US West Coast. 1981 in England, now customised with T-bar roof and front spoilers and huge air outlets in the front fenders plus louvers behind the side window, flared arches, air intake on the hood, hidden door release, outside fuel filler cap, incorrectly positioned Pininfarina badges in the front fenders. Thereafter in Holland with Sanders van der Velden, to Harry Bitzek of King City, Ontario/CDN. Symbolic had it later on before it went to an Asian collector who wishes to remain anonymus. Displayed August 2004 by Blackhawk during the Pebble Beach weekend. Not sold at the RM auction in Amelia Island March 2005, highest bid was US$ 450'000." Marcel Massini
I know these pictures remind one of airport races in the U S A. Well this is an airport but is nearer to Vienna Austria. tongascrew
