Nope it's that bitter jealous author Doug DeMuro. Apparently, he can't get over the fact that he doesnt have the balls or the funds to own an F-Car so he continually dismisses them. Haters gon hate!

Downgraded from a 360 to Porsche, because he was an incompetent F-Car owner. "I can't afford an F-Car, therefore I will tell the world why they shouldn't buy one either"

He might be right but I do not care a f*** about it as my 355 cheers me up every time I take a look at it.

Overblown but all stereotypes are based on reality. Is it worth it, yes, and that must be a measure of the gratification of ownership.

    How is he wrong?
Owning a F355 is not a logical decision.
Either is any act of pure enjoyment.
That's why we have the cajones to enjoying these awesome F355's.
Not everyone got them. I think that's what the author is trying to say.

Reading the article, he sounds like he's trying to be Jeremy Clarkson (and failing miserably!), with statements such as:

"Now, you might think I am exaggerating here for comedic effect, as I sometimes do. For example: I once referred to the Lincoln Navigator as a “tremendously impressive, seminal vehicle that forever changed the world of the airport limo driver.” And I once said that the original Mini has “about the same horsepower as an escalator.” And I admit, those were exaggerations. Silly, stupid exaggerations, and I apologize if I offended anyone working in PR for a) the Lincoln Navigator, or b) the escalator."

    My advice would be:

"Leave it to the professionals Sunshine! - They do it so much better!"

He speaks from a standpoint of utter and complete ignorance. Eff this guy!

Here's a curveball for him. In 7+ years of ownership, I have not repaired ***any*** item whatsoever on my 355.

    Ever!!!

I've only done routine service and preventative maintenance during my 2 major services. The $20 grand I've spent in the past 7 years is offset by the fact that

**THIS CAR DOESN'T DEPRECIATE IN VALUE**

And, as some would argue, it has appreciated in value :)

Insurance is very reasonable, gas mileage is very reasonable, and the smiles and joy factor cannot be valued.

This guy is a complete clown!

Why you should never buy a Ferrari 355? Because driving it with the top down gets women to throw their underwear into your car which causes your wife to question your fidelity whether you slept with said women or not and end up ruining your life then you have to go back out there to look for the now-panties-less women in hope of hooking up but by then she has already moved on to the Lamborghini targets and you end up all by yourself until you die. And that is why you should never buy just one Ferrari 355.

I thought it was amusing. Some truth to it. Some of it was spot on, other parts exaggerated. He was very complimentary about the looks and the sound of the car. With all the good and bad with this car, I still wouldn't trade it for a 360, 430, or a 458. Add a 458 but never trade one for it. This wasn't all that different from what was written in the F355 buyers guide.
