True, but people who buy a Ferrari really shouldnt be caring about that, and if they are, then they shouldnt be buying one because to me that would mean they are pushing themselves fininacially just to have a car.

Why would that indicate they were stretching? Everyone has a budget whether it's a stretch or not.

You do realize Chinese market has over 100% duty
Essentially your buying yourself a car plus donating one - Is that fair ?

Asia will just change taxes to kick in from 2.9L engines, no Govt likes to lose nice little earner from luxury goods.

    Stupid comment.
Remember the pure 488 figures: 670hp at 8,000 rpm and 760Nm of maximum torque.
If this power is fully exploited I see the woods crying!

If they release a NA version it would be a tacit admission that the Turbo version was not all that it might be. That's never going to happen.

I bet those monster SUV produce more emission than any modern NA Ferrari, some more the volume is much more. IMO, the reason for Ferrari to go turbo is not emission, but everything about $$$. They can compete more on Asian's tax on large engine, and it's very very cheap to develop turbocharged engine. Next hardcore version of 488 (Speciale or Scuderia) will be an extra boost stuff only. No engine development and no special material required.
But I heard that Cali T is not doing well, don't know about 488. This is the first time I don't really have interest about new released Ferrari's V8, it's like in no mood to order one. Not about $$$ problem, just don't have interest.

Who thinks that if the 488 bombs and fails on massive sales numbers like the 458, that ferrrari'll make two sets of engines to please the non-chinese markets and just bite the bullet on costs or make up for it by charging extra?

What did you heard? Poor sales? There is a lot of Cali T for sale around Europe.

Or if they're good enough liars, they can claim that they don't care about sales and are more concerned with "purity and emotion".

They won't give it an NA 488. I think there will be great satisfaction when it is launched.

The reason they've gone turbo is because they can't make the headline numbers in comparison to McLaren with a NA engine. Handing a big chunk of performance to the English upstart does not play well in Italy. Of course, that's not something they would ever admit so they've pinned it on emissions.

    Nobody.

Correct. As soon as people get behind the wheel there's going to be universal praise. You'd be a brave man, or a fool, to bet against Ferrari's recent track record. Is there any other current car company that is so on top of its game?

Not an entirely spine tingling sound, there.

    Great shots, thanks for posting.

    Nobody.

Turbo engine was for fuel economy numbers only, stricter laws will be here in the future. Right now cheaper for Ferrari than hybrid, but I'm sure the next 488 replacement will have LaFerrari hybrid technology, that's the one I would wait for.
