With all of these threads about values maybe it's time to shop around for a better insurance rate, and at a higher value as well.

I've had all of my classic and exotic cars insured with Hagerty since the mid 90s, and my boats. While I appreciate their support of our "hobby" and the monthly magazine their rates seem quite high.

I wonder if they're using dynamic pricing, price optimization or...

Anyway, here's mine (clean record, middle-aged married guy, very low or no risk):

Almost $1,100 per year with a stated value of $40K.

Seattle, WA. I was paying (last year) $1450 for $100k agreed value, $500k/$500k for bodily injury . Grundy, no mileage restrictions, pleasure driving only. I had to have $500k in order to qualify for my $2m liability umbrella. I recommend everyone should at least max out their policies, and seriously consider a personal umbrella. Driving a Ferrari you have a big target on your back if you are in a collision....even if not your fault.

    355 $55k agreed value

State to state can make a big difference even with everything else being equal.

Why do you guys feel you need agreed value on a 355?

Check Haggerty, or any other places like Kelly Blue book .... KKB might not do F cars.
Some of these companies value a 348/355 with some miles in the $30 K range, you don't want the shock of your life when they tell you what they are going to give you, if they have to write it off.

An important point to define beforehand (agreed value).

I am paying AU $1577 pa here in Australia for my 348.

The conditions are "limited use" which means driving the car once or twice a week. It's an honesty system and I only drive my car once or twice every 6 months. :p

And it's an agreed to an AU $95,000 value.

They put the agreed value on it when I bought it for $115,000 back in 2005. They won't insure to $115,000 anymore because the value of it has come down.

Bu I am happy with a $95K insurance payout if I ever need it.

*Fingers crossed nothing ever happens to my car**

I just went through this. Grundy's will be your cheapest. But it's "collector car" insurance with driving limitations.

I only drove my Mondial 1000 per year when I owned it but hoping for more seat time in the 348.

I need to see if I can qualify, thanks.

You can certainly drive it more, but it limited to pleasure driving, weekend driving, which is fine by me. No running errands, no meeting business clients, no driving to work etc...
