With all of these threads about values maybe it's time to shop around for a better insurance rate, and at a higher value as well. I've had all of my classic and exotic cars insured with Hagerty since the mid 90s, and my boats. While I appreciate their support of our "hobby" and the monthly magazine their rates seem quite high. I wonder if they're using dynamic pricing, price optimization or... Seattle, WA. I was paying (last year) $1450 for $100k agreed value, $500k/$500k for bodily injury . Grundy, no mileage restrictions, pleasure driving only. I had to have $500k in order to qualify for my $2m liability umbrella. I recommend everyone should at least max out their policies, and seriously consider a personal umbrella. Driving a Ferrari you have a big target on your back if you are in a collision....even if not your fault.
Yep, they do all my classics since .......well longer then I care to remember Great service price, they get it
Philadelphia area. No mile restriction, but told them under 1000 miles annually. 39 y/o driver, no accidents. Pleasure driver, must have another verifiable vehicle for daily driver. 1994 Ferrari 348 Spider, $65k agreed value. $100.00 deductible. $800.00 a year with Grundy. P.S. my Porsche is only $302.00 a year...
1990 348 TS. Age 30 with no accidents and no records. TDC Risk Management $644/ year $0 deductible. 3,000 Mille/year limit. Agreed value of $45k.
Maybe Hagerty didn't get the memo, yet. As of May 14, 2015, Florida became the 4th state to ban "price optimization" (behind Maryland, Ohio and California). http://ifawebnews.com/2015/05/18/florida-becomes-4th-state-to-ban-auto-insurance-price-optimization/
My 348 and 355 cost just under $1100 a year with American Modern for the two. 355 $55k agreed value 348 $45k agreed value $0 deductible, 3k miles a year. In Montana, 39 with no accidents. State to state can make a big difference even with everything else being equal.
Check Haggerty, or any other places like Kelly Blue book .... KKB might not do F cars. Some of these companies value a 348/355 with some miles in the $30 K range, you don't want the shock of your life when they tell you what they are going to give you, if they have to write it off.
Well, based on this http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/348-355-sponsored-bradan/487947-f355-market.html, it's decide on what you need.
I am paying AU $1577 pa here in Australia for my 348. The conditions are "limited use" which means driving the car once or twice a week. It's an honesty system and I only drive my car once or twice every 6 months. And it's an agreed to an AU $95,000 value. They put the agreed value on it when I bought it for $115,000 back in 2005. They won't insure to $115,000 anymore because the value of it has come down. Bu I am happy with a $95K insurance payout if I ever need it. *Fingers crossed nothing ever happens to my car** Image Unavailable, Please Login
I just went through this. Grundy's will be your cheapest. But it's "collector car" insurance with driving limitations.
I only drove my Mondial 1000 per year when I owned it but hoping for more seat time in the 348. I need to see if I can qualify, thanks.
You can certainly drive it more, but it limited to pleasure driving, weekend driving, which is fine by me. No running errands, no meeting business clients, no driving to work etc...
