I feel im good person to answer this as ive had lots of track time in the poster boy for 'analog car', lotus elise, and 'digital car', gtr. my answer might surprise some - gtr is much harder to drive than lotus.

lotus has no aids what so ever besides abs. even manual steering. but it is so easy to drive because little need for braking. other than turns at end of long straights, all that's usually needed is a throttle lift or maybe a tap of brakes. keep the momentum up, and shifting not so critical either.

gtr has every aid available but its much more difficult to drive, imo. when driven properly, stability control, etc don't even come into play. the difficulty is that braking is so critical due to high speeds. no such thing as a simple lift or brake tap. its usually full on regardless how short the straight is.

gtr is about 7 sec faster per minute of lap time than lotus but times are very inconsistent. lucky to stay within 2 sec per minute lap time in a single session. in the lotus im within .5 sec.

no question that gtr is easier to drive round trip 6 hrs back and forth though and that's getting to be more and more important as I get older!

A digital car is easier to drive faster. Driving any car at its limit is not easy. Some ways digital car with their lack of feedback and nannies are harder to learn on because whats you whats the car..

Dep[ending on track (Say LRP) If GTr is 7 secs faster then the lotus is not being driven properly. In my experience a GTr may be 2-3 secs per lap faster, for a few laps till its pace fades due to heat tires etc.

In any event what the 7 sec difference shows is that its easier to go faster in digital car, and far more entertaingn and skillful to go the same speed in an anolog car..

More i think about it maybe its just that a slow car is easier to drive than a fast one. Gtr vs lotus is apples to oranges. Should be gtr vs say a viper as fast dig vs fast analg then say lotus vs mitsu evo as slow analog vs dig

Yep on a much fatser car, no time to relax on the straights so you are always on.

Still its easier to go faster in a digital car, although liek allt hings you dotn work for, the learning is less.

Now you just need to get that "slow" car top lap as fast as your Gtr.

The analog car will actually reward basic skills and spank foolhardiness. The digital car will cover up weaknesses, up to a point....
