Simply gorgeous David. Why will it be awhile? Didn't you order awhile back? Have always loved the triplo strata!
It sounds like they have delays in the paint and carbon fiber areas, and here's my speculation as to why: I had my factory Atelier session on April 10 and did the tour while I was there. Before arriving I was told that there'd probably be a bunch of 488's on the line, but if there wasn't, they were behind schedule. I saw one on the line, one in the Atelier, and a the body of one in the corner with about five guys huddled around the front bumper area working on some issue. I think I remember hearing that final 458 production was to end around mid June. My car was part of a "special" allocation of 8 more Speciale's (and some Speciale A's) for the United States. My guess is that this "special" allocation was because 488 production is delayed and they need to keep the factory running. With the planned IPO they can't slow down and show a drop in revenue. Because these cars weren't initially planned, there were certain long lead time components that didn't get planned. I was originally thinking about blue carbon fiber, but when I arrived at the Atelier, Anna said it wouldn't get accepted because it would delay past the production end date (mid June). I heard this past week that 458 production has now been extended into September. I've heard that all triple layer paints are sent out, they aren't painted at the factory, and there's a huge backup there.
