I have both. The FF is simply the best every day car on the market. My 100lb German Shepard fits in the back with the seats down. The interior is larger than my Lexus IFS. It's a V12 and every bit a Ferrari when you want it to but a very docile DD when you don't. There are a few simple things that make it a better city driver such as the fact the clutch stays engaged when you come to a stop light so there is no lag when you take your foot off the brake. Drive one if you can..

Thanks for the reply jasone, i haven't tried the FF yet, i definitely will, thanks for the insight my thought was also that the ff would be a much more pleasant everyday car but to be honest the 458 is the must beautiful car i have been in.

That's why I have both :) Pretty hard to chose one or the other. If you really plan to use this as a DD, dinners, shopping, vacations / trips, groceries etc etc etc. The 458 isn't that practical, it draws a crowd anywhere you go and parking is always a hassle.

If I could only have 1 car, it would be the FF. I had a F430 and 458 long before the FF and as long as I can have more than 1 car the 458 (Speciale on the way) will always be in my garage but when I need to leave my car at the airport for a week while traveling or picking someone up from the airport with luggage.. I need something other than the 458.

I had a 458 spider - traded it for an FF so that I could use it every day, haven't regretted it for one moment.
I agree that the 458 is a prettier car.Other than that ,for me and my use ,the FF is better in every department.
The FF is a phenomenal car - test drive one,it won't dissapoint

FF is the DD car by a big margin

Obviously the FF is a better DD but if you are considering and can afford the 458 as a DD, that would be my choice.

Honestly, for a DD, I'd get a Bentley continental GTC Speed

+1 an amazing DD. Nothing comes close to giving you a Ferrari experience with everyday usability.

With the 458 you really sit low to the ground, it's more of a gokart feel than a daily driver.

My response is neither is a great DD. In the FF you're still in a Ferrari and it will still get a lot of attention. If you must make this choice then of course the FF is the better DD. But my advice is find something else as a DD and then get the 458.

Consider the F12 also. A better daily drive than the 458 and better looking than FF but still not a beauty like a 458. I suggest F12 since u don't seem to need 4 seats.
But mostly I agree with above, get another daily, and then a 458. Your heart obviously wants a 458.

I too have both. The FF I put about 140-200km per day on and really enjoy it. I take my son to his KiTa daily, go to all my appointments and truly love the car. FF is more comfortable than the 458 and easier to just get in and go.

The FF is slightly faster and much more spacious. I love the V12 sound but also really appreciate the high strung V8. I'm not sure which prefer. Today I think I lean towards the FF tone.

If I were with no kids and didn't mind looking like a wannabe racer everywhere I went, I'd gladly take the 458. The reality is that the FF is more mature, classier and less flashy.

At the end of the day get what fits your need. For me the FF is the perfect DD while the 458 is nice for A drive here and there. The 458 is the more exciting car to take for a fun drive while the FF is a badass daily/winter/travel car.

As for the F12, it fits right between the two. More comfortable more performance, excitement etc. not as much legroom as the other two. In the F12 I'm all the way back while I have a little space in the 458 and a ton of room in the FF.

If I could only have one....

No kids and price a factor:458

    Kids:FF

No kids price not a factor:F12

    Otherwise all three works perfectly!

Let us know what you end up doing... I've got a Speciale and I'm considering the FF as a DD as well... Sounds like there's a bunch of us in the same boat here...

Ok, whatever.. still a great conversation. I love my FF and my 458. strangely both Ferraris, with many of the same characteristics but completely different cars at the same time.

Drive the 458 every day (when there is no snow on the roads). Fantastic.

Winter dd is the RS5. Has a back seat. The kids are over 30 and have kids. ;)
And like all the high tech gizmos...which work!

Afraid to drive an FF. that could be expensive. Too expensive. Will never part with a convertible in the mountains. Just too fantastic!

I DD my 458 - some attention, but since it's blue, it's manageable. The trunk is actually a reasonable size (I can fit my hockey equipment pretty easily), and the driving experience is remarkably similar to the FF in terms of docile when it needs to be / crazy when it wants to be.

I DD my 458 Spider. Titanio so manageable attention also. I stopped by my shoe guy today on way home from work. My POS 3 year old Ferragamo's sole separated from shoe. Super Shoe Goo failed. $10 repair ftw. Guys were checking spider out on the street but they all waved so I waved back.

A couple in a white Nissan Titan filmed me as I was driving home from shoe repair stop. I mount my iPhone 6 plus on top of windshield so I have video footage when driving. I decided to film the Nissan too. The woman waved at me so I waved back.

I have golf clubs behind the seats I've been meaning to trade in as I upgraded to Adams New Idea hybrid.

My California was a more practical DD but my spider is much more engaging to drive.

I have a bmw x3 for the beach.
