Anyone know why VicRoads is currently rejecting club permit renewals through the Ferrari club, and when this will be resolved?

No, but VicRoads should have said why.

The only reason I can think of would be some formality regarding the FCA being recognised by VicRoads.

I hope the 11 cars I have on the Club Permit system are still valid lol.

In that case, the VicRoads letter would suggest that any car under the Victorian CPS through the FCA is invalid.

Holy ****e. I hope the forms get signed pronto. If your car is without a permit for 3 months it can not be renewed. You have to go through a whole new process to get a new permit.

I'm sure it's temporary. Call Trent or Mike.

I've already sent emails to the club, not had any response yet. Was planning to start phone calls tomorrow.

    Colleagues,
I am the club permit officer for the Alfa club. The issue issue for the F club is that the new regulations VicRoads introduced in January required club compliance papers to be lodged by 31 March (with signatures & drivers licences of the club permit officers etc). Looks like a stuff up at the F club.

If you get pulled over you will be fined with driving an unregistered vehicle.
Also do NOT use any non-VicRoads issued palters or stickers. The cops are cracking down BIG time. 3 demerit points, $295 and loss of club permit for the vehicle.

I have found that many new applicants do not print off the TWO forms that now require signing, nor send the soft copy photos that I need to store in a database as VicRoads may ask for all member car photos within 7 days. A convoluted process.

    Regards
    Phil

    From Trent

Peter - I just heard that on FChat there is some concern about the Club Plate scheme - I cant post on F-chat as I am not a member. But if you wouldn’t mind posting to say that that we are working to sort it as a priority and hope to have it sorted in the next day or so.

Can that really be the case for an existing permit given it was issued at a time when the club was authorised? I don't see how that would stand up in court as how would the driver know if the club was still authorised each time they get in the car!

Curious why you didn't call the person who signed the application form when you discovered there was a problem earlier today. ?

I didn't find out today. I contacted them last week when I received the letter but and hadn't heard anything so assumed they may be away. I followed up with someone else at the club on Monday but still hadn't heard anything. fChat was the next logical place to ask.

STOP PRESS! Have since heard from the club directly and it's now being sorted out so everyone can rest easy.

So, obviously it was worth posting on FChat.

It prompted a response and it is now being sorted. Good.

You may very well be correct about it not standing up in court. It seems very unfair. I have first hand knowledge of sherrif booking a club member in Spring st for driving an unregistered vehicle.

Yes, we are incompetent retards with nothing better to do, who aren't worth the vast sums you pay for the free service (club rego) so well done to Fchat - the defender of truth and accuracy in the Ferrari world.

Ian I don't think the OP made any disparaging remarks about the Club committee, he was trying to give a very legitimate heads up to others who might find themselves in his position. Whilst we all recognize the great VOLUNTARY work the committees do, it is also not great to see an important piece of paperwork like this slip through the cracks, but then no one is perfect all the time.
