A group of us took our Ferraris to a car show at a steak house tonight. One of the guys in our group heard a guy walking by tell his buddy "these 2 cars are the Ferrari 360, you can get a REALLY nice one for about forty grand"

It's funny because either you get those very cheap price comments or the opposite. Sometimes people think that Ferraris are astronomically expensive.

I guess this is the advertisement he saw:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AN9Bq0UO1WY

The best part is that they say that it's a replica, but show a real Ferrari! lol
It's unbelievable the scams that people fall for.

I wondered what the prince of Nigeria has been up to lately. He stopped sending me those emails asking me to move some of his money for him.

A family friend of mine, female, late 30's to upper 40's, got in my 458 for the first time last weekend. Upon sitting down, her first comment was "It smells like the Gucci store in here."

I went to a locksmith (not a hardware store) to get my folding 348 key copied.

Told him, "I'd like this copied. If you have Ilco blanks, like for Fiats, one will work."

"What's this for?" he asked. "A Ferrari? I don't think so! You know, a guy came here with a key he bought on eBay, a blank, for $400, and he wanted me to copy it for his Ferrari, but it was steel! And I told him, if you want me to try that on my machine, you better be ready to get a whole new machine for me after it tears this one up!"

"Um," I said, "could you just check if you have the right blank for this? Should be an Ilco..."

"Oh, I doubt it but...oh, wow, there it is..." he said.

    Cut two keys for me.

"That'll be $7.51. I bet that's the least you've ever spent on anything for your Ferrari!"

I had a Big R country store cut my 348 folder, and Enzo replica for my 360. They were very careful each time!

Reminds me of the story of the guy who went to Vegas and reported to his neighbors that he'd done very well: Went out in a $50,000 Mercedes-Benz, and came home in a$150,000 Greyhound bus. :D

On the opposite end of the spectrum, there was the guy who was certain that my 308 was worth $250,000.

If either of these were true, I'd be driving a 360.

Give 'em six months, the 360 will be cheaper than your 308! ;)

Background info--I work at a Ferrari service shop, and one of our customer's who has his F430 Spider with us was low on fuel so I took it around the corner to get topped off. Keep in mind I'm 26, have long hair, and was wearing gym shorts and a t shirt.

Guy in his mid-40s pulls up to the pump next to me in a LR Discovery, looks at me, and just blurts out "How the HELL do you have that car?!"

I don't hesitate to tell him I'm only a lowly shop employee tasked with something fun, and we go on to have a great chat about the cars :) (And if only he was there when I pulled up to the same pump 10 minutes later in a 512 TR to do the same thing!)

How rude of him. So that means owners can't wear gym shorts and a T-shirt with long hair.

New American sports car owner rolling through the neighborhood where I had stopped for a brief moment - "That's the nicest kit car I've ever seen!".

I thanked them and went on about my business.

Noah's flood finally stopped here in Dallas, so my husband and I took my car to breakfast the other day at a local cafe. We both work from home so typical "business dress" is shorts/yoga pants, t-shirts, and tennis shoes/flip flops. We eat there all the time and yesterday, the lady who runs it said when we left one of the customers told her "I'm stunned. I would never have picked them as the people who owned a Ferrari."

So apparently, if you've having breakfast at a local 50s cafe, and you're going to drive a Ferrari there, you're supposed to put on a suit or something...?

Assumptions like that are why we drove our old pickup truck to shop for houses. That way, the salespeople didn't bug us. :)

His fault for thinking HE can judge a book by it's cover.

I would have had fun with him at his expense on this one and made up a good story to make him feel worse about his life... :D

If someone drove a Ferrari around here in something other than shorts, tees and flip flops people would comment.
    ;)
