Nice! A fellow Fchatter owned this car in 2009: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/360-430/263734-anyone-know-cs.html

Car had 37k miles at that time. Looks great in the pictures. The argento with red-black alcantara color combo works really well.

How does the market value factory stripe vs no stripe for the identical car?
How many of the cars had factory stripe vs no stripe?

    Looks beautiful.

There's no real correlation between mileage and condition. You can have a well kept 41K mile CS. I'd buy that thing in a second.

The stripe was a stick on version Not like the painted ones on the Scud and Speciale
So it should be a 5K difference anything other than that is ridiculous IMO

What?? The stripe is only a stick on? Is it under clearcoat?

Yes the stripe is a sticker. Yes it's under the clear coat. (Been asked and answered here many times)

No, it's worth way more than $5000 price delta now in the marketplace. It was (without checking my window sticker) around $5000 as a factory option. Like lots of "silly" (meaning non rational, non linear relation to original cost - resale red anyone?) things that influence prices, it's now worth more than that.

Stokpro or Mike law might have a sense of this....I don't believe anyone knows the exact answers to either of your questions.

There are 80 confirmed factory stripe cars in the registry now, of the 603 cars in total.
Plus 130 cars with either a factory stripe or a sticker stripe. Pretty sure most of these 130 cars have stickers.

Fun fact: the lexan side windows were a no-cost option. Worth a lot of money now. I've been told only 40 cars had the lexan windows (30 cars with lexan in the registry now).

When I ordered my Stradales back in 2003 my dealer begged me NOT to order a stripe. He said nobody would like it a few years down the road, and it would make it difficult to sell the car. I loved the stripe immediately, but I hedged and ordered one with the stripe and one without. In hindsight of course I would have ordered both with a stripe :)

its literally a sticker and the idea that factory stripe cars are worth more is down right retarded. its a sticker. lets think about this. its a sticker.

Let's get the lingo right. It's a "graphic" not a sticker :-j and the factory stripe is under the clear coat so it's a nicer way to do it than putting a sticker on top of the paint. Only a small percentage of Stradales were ordered with the factory stripe so it's desirable to some people (including me) to have a Stradale with a factory stripe.

I remember being at an "unofficial" record setting gathering in 2008 of 21 Stradales in Malibu. I was surprised at how many of the Stradales had stripes...until I took a closer look (and touch). Most were add-on stickers rather than factory graphics under the clear coat. I planned on taking my RS Stradale with factory stripe to that event, but my battery croaked so I had to take my backup yellow Stradale without a stripe.

To put the "retarded" sticker under the paint after the fact is big money.
It was also a 5k option.

Not sure why you believe this has no value.

I personally think the sticker is too boy racerish. I spent a long time looking for a CS without a stripe and wldnt buy one that had a stripe so I fall into the minority. to me the cs stripe and the chairs and flairs dino premiums are more than silly.

to be fair there have been times when I started liking the stripe - I even bought one - but cld never get myself to pull the trigger....after owning the car for 5 years ive concluded it's one thing to have a stripe on an fxx but having one on a regular car is just completely silly to me.

opinions are like *******s - everyone has one and to me this is nirvana

If not envy then why so much passion for "silly"? Or isn't that silly also?

what is unclear? to me cosmetics commanding a premium is silly. more hp, better suspension etc in my mind justifies a premium - stickers, seats, and arches dont

So it is the market valuation that is irking you. Markets are perfectly rational and irrational, just depends on your point of view. ;)
