This test was at the Ascari track in Málaga, Spain. Jacky Ickx has a long association with Porsche and I bet the 6-times Le Mans winner made the Mezger engine sing! Fitting then that Porsche Ag has just invited Jacky Ickx to try the new RS at Spa Francorchamps. His evaluation would be meaningful. I mean we are talking about the winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans six times, eight wins and 25 podium finishes in Formula One, the winner of the Can-Am Championship in 1979, and the winner of the Dakar Rally. He drove the 997 4.0 RS too! Image Unavailable, Please Login

Jacky Ickx flat out @ Spa. In this pic the Lava Orange looks almost red. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Contrast with this image of the same car and it looks orange. I have noticed Lava Orange is very light-sensitive in images. Image Unavailable, Please Login

My thoughts exactly. However, if you do the math, the USA 3.6 RS is rarer than a USA Carrera GT, and given the current trajectory of collectible values, perhaps the GT3 RS is beginning to follow suit.
