Concur....and not just Ferrari either - really everyone - BMW, Porsche, Lamborghini, etc.

Did anyone else catch the news that Porsche is supposedly going to do a GTx line car with less tech and performance, but a more raw visceral experience including a 6spd? Pretty cool - and the proof is in the way the manual GT3's have held their value.

Would be really cool to see Ferrari/Fiat offer something similar in the future and it would also line up with the desire to increase production.

What we need if for everyone to take a page out of porsche's book and stop chasing mega numbers and go back to basics.

    We know you love Volkswagens.

Hardly a comparable car. More of a competitor to an F12...which sounds just as good or better.

The 355 was less emotional than the 348? The 430 was less emotional the the 360?

I think Ferrrari needs to make at least one or two models for enthusiast. The new dino and make another model out of the 488 in NA, carbon chassis, lightweight (under 3000) and manny tranny, that can only be ordered in limited numbers throughout the year to offset the c02 laws. The 488 model is going to more expensive, but I'm sure enthusiast wouldn't mind.

sadly dino is much more possible than another naturally aspirated V8

Not for the 488 replacement. My money is on Na-Hybrid, especially if the rumors of the cali t not doing so well indicate the same for the 488.

How much power this NA would have?
What did you heard about Cali T?

Thats why I said rumors, but Leslie just posted another comment about it. For the engine, how about a 991 gt3-esque v6 with 500hp + 150-200hp battery?

    Of course it has.

In fact this criticism seems to resonate in all new replacements across all sports car brands.

I think 488 replacement will be also V8TT without electric motor, this is easy way to build fast cars

Porsche may be thinking along those lines.

V6 will not work, not as balanced as a boxer to be able to rev as high with large displacement needed to achieve 500 hp(Porsche does it with 4 L)

Just buy a Porsche if you want a car like that(or Huracan/R8)... Ferrari will not be going back to basics and N/A engines will be reserved for V12 models.

    Thanks.

Not that its a bad thing if the original is so iconic.
    The 328 looked a lot like a 308.

The 328 was a 308 with some minor amendments (not for the better).

I agree that the 308 is the purer design but the 328 ain't what you'd call ugly.
