The first one could well be, the second one looks like the regular production line.

 

This dealer appears to have five (5) Countachs in here including the Pearl White downdraft 25th Anniversario that lived in Canada.

Great pair of old metal, ran mine this weekend as well,cars and coffe Ft myers fla,good time, temp in the low90s and my Ac kept up , not bad

By the way,the silver does very well on the Countach,There was a silver lp400s(i think) in Oslo in the early/ mid 80s. Belonging to a Sweede (Staffan) that part is funny,the old rivalery between Norway and Sweeden,

Hello All,

At some point in the past there were some posts or threads comparing the Countach lowbody sizes to the other (later) Countach versions. I remember a post/picture showing them nose to nose and so on...

Can anybody kindly send me a refresher of where I can find this information? Search didn't do it (hanging head in shame)...

 

The "Paratelli perforations" did not exist on the Countach until the interior rehash done for the LP 500S in 1982. Even still, there were some interiors done by Autosport (alternate trimmer) that have a similar design to the Paratelli supplied items but WITHOUT perforations, French stitched seams (instead of small pipe), and the top of the block pattern in the seats is a large rectangular cushion instead of the square sections going all the way to the head rest the way the Paratelli items do.

 

As Michael has already pointed out, the seat perforations are not supposed to be on any LP400, and this car's interior was restored in Italy by the same people who made it when new, so one would hope they get it right.

Here is another LP400 interior, original and unrestored, without the perforations.

Interestingly, I have actually seen images of an LP400 that has been restored with seat perforations mistakenly applied!

A decision by the master upholsterer himself... IMO it is better not to apply the perforations but it looks good and can be changed, so what?

 

[sarcasm on]Perforations on 400 seats = lighter leather and top speed improved by 0.00001%.
One must get everything covered to optimize. Weight saving on leather is the essence of why the QV is a better and faster car. [sarcasm off]

Thanks. That was going to be my next question so I could call. Pictures must be old because their inventory is light on Lambos. Too bad.

 

I was always a bit shy regarding sharing these photos until now.

The pictures were taking in Trinidad in 1987, where I lived for 5 years during the 1980s. I am 16 years old in the pictures below (yes I was still growing into my head - laughing).

The RHD Countach QV was bought brand new by a really nice and successful family, who are friends with my parents. At the time it was the fastest car I had ever driven in and left a life long impression on me as a young shaver that I still remember vividly today, when we went for a drive there were bursts where I saw 120-140mp/h and it was amazing (understatement).

Sadly this QV was crashed one night and then sold, I believe it was taken off the road for a long time (maybe over 10 years) to be repaired and I think it is now fully fully repaired and running and still in Trinidad. I am unsure who owns it now or what it looks like.





I left Trinidad in 1989 and moved to Toronto, the picture below of the Anniversary was taken in 1990 at the Toronto Motor Show. where I continued to have incredible respect and admiration for the marque.

I never felt that I would ever be successful to ever own a Lamborghini and worked and worked until I bought my '91 Diablo last year. I feel so very honored and will never forget the ups and downs to get here, I will also never forget that first ride in Trevor's amazing Countach back in 1987.
