Welcome back, iceman....
Iceman welcome back! Congratulations on the "new" Enzo Always a pleasure reading what you have to say.
It's what I try to do... I hate wasting my precious time. And that kind a people, I hate them too. Now, here are the new "infos" I've got : The car would be in UTAH, in the mountains, at 7 hours road from Salt Lake City... An attorney would be in the operation. I've asked to get a photo of the chassis number plate close to today's newspaper... Let's wait. However, something special astonishes me. I've in hand a copy of the US title as I already said showing that the car has been after being repaired the property of a specialized company in Oklahoma Executive Auto Brokers - po Box 127 - Ketchum - OK 74349-0127 Thing that everybody can easily check in Google. Here are the main infos shown on the title : Chassis # ZFFCW56AX30132648 1st reg. in 2003 Title # 180505143003 issued 05/23/2005 Type of title : rebuilt Loss or salvage : 04/30/2004 So, it seems that 132648 was sold to OK from Florida... And after that ??? Another info, Shelton invoices are named to Mr Steve W. Patterson, who obviously has nothing to see or to do in today's mess. And maybe is the man who sold the original car to London. So, now, I have 2 questions : 1- Can a US title bear the mention "Loss or salvage : 04/30/2004" while it's still not completely repaired (since I already said the last invoice in of late December 2004). 2- Would it be possible that the car sold in Utah (?) does bear the same chassis number, and so could be maybe a former stolen car ???? Mmmmmmhhhhhh...
Other info : The Enzo for sale has got red tacho. I've asked for Assembly & Engine #. The car would be now registered in Nevada, and stored in Utah in a 2.5 M$ estate. Image Unavailable, Please Login
If Mike says he bought it, we have no reason to think he's lying. I would say the case is closed. Although it would be nice to find out anything we can about the scammer so that no one here (or anywhere else for that matter) gets burned by this guy later on down the road. Also sounds to me like Bops is collecting Enzos. He could very well create a shortage in the Enzo market, thus driving prices up.
Obviously a fake title, says it is a Ferrar, is that kind of like Krab, or geniune immitation leather? Sorry, couldn't resist! What an intriguing story. I once followed up on a Testarossa that was listed in Dupont Registry that was for sale in OK. There was an email address, a name, and a fax number (which wasn't even in the same area code where the supposed owner lived - Suspicious much?). With a little research I hunted down the phone number (there was only one listed) for that name in that town. I called her up and found out that she had recently been a vicitm of identity theft. When I told her that someone was listing a 1989 Ferrari Testarossa and had her as the seller she was freaked out. She was extremely grateful that I had let her know. I contacted Dupont to have them pull the ad and their response puzzled me. Long story short it eventually was pulled. If it sounds too good to be true, it most likely is. Don't wire money, don't take their word for it. If someone is reluctant to show you more photos, or wants you to wire money (100% refundable of course just to validate that you are a serious buyer) run, don't walk away from the deal. I suspect that with the economy in the state that it is in right now that scams like these (in an effort to extract deposits) from unsuspecting would be buyers looking for the deal of the century will become more common place.
Cannot be of anymore help. The only thing I can tell you is that it's a man located near Monaco in France, who already proposed me A Reventon last year located in Chicago, who is in that case.
If one was to be so 'misinformed' so often, surley 'Xavier' should give up the dealing, or mabye just Enzo's, he seems to not know the difference between a real one or a scam. Best Michael James
Je n'aime pas de toute façon les personnes qui donnent des noms en pature tout en restant anonyme. Les 10.000 $ qu'il demandait pour aller voir ce que j'ai identifié sans bouger, c'est bien lui qui les demandait.
You right Michael. The problem being when you find always the same guys in the same ****. Above all when as recently he sold an SL AMG 6 weeks ago to a man still waiting for his documents... Pascal DESCOMPS
Je n'ai rien à cacher, je suis moderateur sur ce forum. J'ai juste eu contact avec des professionnels de la branche qui le connaissent bien. Pour plus d'informations (parce que là on va en offtopic le plus complet) on peut parler via messages privés. Cordialement
If you google Executive Autos in Ketchum,OK, it is obvious they don't have an Enzo. I could not even find a website and it says their annual sales in $350k annually. I bet they do not even know.
Update : Bonhams : c.2004 Ferrari Enzo Berlinetta Chassis no. ZFFCW56AX301 132648 Engine no. Tipo F140B 75017
