Racedeck is great stuff. I used to have it in my garage but had to change to epoxy as I had older animals and the urine would get under the tiles. This mad a typical 15 minute clean up a six hour clean up. Pull out all of the cars lift the floor tiles, clean them and the floor then replace.

I had a similar issue with water and snow melting - got under the racedeck and just sat there --- didn't even go away with the radiant heat - anyhow the smell was pretty bad so I yanked them and put down epoxy...if ur in a dry area racedeck is great, otherwise I wldnt use them in a garage that is used every day

Holy sh@t. Looks like you are playing with inches of vertical clearance. Now that's what I call efficient use of space.

In fact, almost looks like you cut into the ceiling to gain an extra two inches, unless I'm seeing that wrong?

She likes it on top..... However, rear wheels overhang about 20mm each side, assuming I get it centred.

I deliberated on getting a hoist for a couple years, checking and re-checking the plans and available dimensions. Always knew it was going to be tight. Being an engineer I trusted my judgement. The key issue I wasn't certain of was the range of vertical adjustment for the notches setting the height for the top vehicle. The notches are at 6 inches centres and I wanted the bottom car to be able to interchange with the top car.

Anyway, 4 inches clear for the SL at the bottom and 2 inches clear for the TR on top. Difficulty is the hoist has to go up a little to unlock before it can come down! Similar clearance to the TR when it is on the bottom and the hoist at a lower setting.

If the clearances didn't work out I was prepared to sell the non TR vehicle of the time.

Correct, 2 inches is about spot on. However, fortunately the house was built like that, representing roof space above - whereas the lower ceiling represents a bedroom above.

The garage footprint is about 1600 sq ft (roughly 38x42) and has a 12.5 ft ceiling height. The lifts are standard width 4 post lifts from Bendpak
