I haven't actually mentioned this to you nor publicly but since our transaction has been completed and the vehicle is on its way to LA shortly i am now prepared to confirm the following:

Joe was trying to find me a Countach for approximately 3 weeks prior to your one being listed.

Upon a courtsey email from myself to Joe informing him to stop his search as i had found a potential Countach he:

1. Asked whether it was the one you had newly referenced as becoming available.
2. Attempted to steer me away from your one.
3. Claimed it had numerous "modifications" that were "poorly executed", that it was not desirable as it "modified fuel-injection car, the type with lower power & performance" which would detract from it's value in an attempt to scare me off.
4. Claimed to have inspected the vehicle.

Upon me asking for a copy of the report and for a list of all the modifications he failed to support his claims and allegations and upon detailed questioning from myself confirmed that the modifications he was referring to were simply that the car was an FI QV and that a "trusted colleague" had seen and not formally inspected the vehicle.

I have an email trail to prove the above should Joe comment on this post and i am willing to spend the time to post these should he continue to show his poor character.

He is underhanded in his approach and i am absolutely disgusted by him.

I wouldn't deal with him again and can only state for purchasers to be extremely weary.

That said, the OP's question on whether the Lambo section is the most popular or not, actually depends on what cars you are interested in. Since the question by the OP was what is the most popular Lamborghini site, if post-count & views are any way of measuring popularity, then those 2 Lamborghini threads are peerless on the internet.

There are other models too (the V8s and front-engined cars) that also have very useful and well-informed threads, so, all-in-all, I'd say the Lamborghini section on FChat is both a great source of useful information and highly popular.

I can't compare FChat to the other sites, because, I never go elsewhere, however, the feedback I get from others who do supports that focus.

I am curious, what did he do to it for what length of time? My main issue in getting the car in shops is the darn time it takes to get it back sometimes for few little things and that is for locals.
in that case you got to add the shipping delays.

This isn't the first time I have heard this either. How could anyone judge or disparage someone else's car without having even had a set of eyes on it in person???

If you are a broker who does this for a living, in my opinion your reputation is everything.

3. Yes, it is a modified Countach, and yes, I believe modifications not fully-executed are poorly executed, very simple. A USA Countach modified to a European body with rear valances and side-markers still left unchanged in my opinion is poorly done, it doesn't matter by who. George will be the first to agree, he'd rather do a complete job than be restricted by a budget, and when he does a complete job, its really good. This was not a complete modification, but having said all that, a modified Countach is less desirable than an unmodified one, that's indisputable.

4. Yes, I had it inspected. To me, its good business to have a number of trusted & experienced people in multiple locations who can look over a car & report, whether it be in another shop, car show or wherever. There are people reading this who have inspected cars for me across the country, and I trust their judgement, such as they are in fact Concours Judges on occasion. I make it my business to know the condition of any Countach that I can, and this is proprietary information. After all, the report that came to me was that it was a 'good solid driver', and you described it as a "driver" yourself, so the report was obviously accurate.

I can save you the time and post the e-mail stream too, it only serves to show that you left out quite a lot.

Why didn't you also share that I explained: "This is a modified Countach. It started life with USA bodywork, which has now been modified to European bodywork. From a collectors point-of-view, strictly speaking it will always be a 'modified' car. As these cars increase in value, one is far better off buying an unmodified car, and the latter will appreciate much more, and provide more satisfaction for the owner who knows he/she has a pure collectible.". Perhaps if people had the whole picture, that would be more fair.

Why didn't you also share that I offered: "for example, there is a beautiful white Carburetted Downdraft car in California and due to come up for sale soon. There is also the ex-Mario Andretti Carburetted car coming up for sale" as options that I believe would be a far better investment for you, based on my instructions to find you a great car.

Why didn't you also share that after I explained all the aforementioned, your response was: "fair enough".

Perhaps you could also have shared that I said: " with patience we will find you a proper Carburetted car that has not been modified" Rather straightforward thinking, isn't it?

Then, a month-and-a-half later with no communication, this? Who does that? Wouldn't the proper etiquette be to reach out to me immediately offline and discuss your concerns? The only thing underhanded is someone coming online without the opportunity of clarification to slander someone unfairly by not painting the full picture. Poor form and pretty lame behavior, actionable too. How would you like it if someone did that to you amongst your peers in your particular field of business? Fortunately, my reputation is rock-solid amongst those who actually are my clients. This is an unnecessary attack, it changes nothing, anyone interested in working with me can clearly see the agenda (as some have already told me), but coming from an affiliation with Roy Cats, why am I not surprised? As you have probably learned by now, internet terrorism doesn't faze me, you've got the wrong guy, which clearly was the case here.

Interesting response from Mr Joe. I did not respond to the post from LABrit as I have ALWAYS found it better in business to tell "possible customers" why my product is better then the competition instead of degrading and cutting the competition. A few things I have for sure learned from Mr Joe's posted response.

1) I am amazed that you place yourself at a higher level then your fellow mankind...I don't know who or what makes you think that by your comment of "affiliated with Roy Cats" is such a "automatic" derogatory out come no matter what the issue is..because we can BOTH post past and present customers "love and relationship" with each of us, as is evident in the thread under my sponsorship section of this Lamborghini Chat section.

2) I am glad to know that the USA version cars that are equipped with the USA bumpers front and rear are NOW and ALWAYS will be worth more then a "converted/Modified" car per your statement. I am sure that of course ALL the cars you have sold that have been "Modified", (which have been quite a few), and not completed correctly, you have advised your buying customer of their lesser value in the car community.??

The interesting thing is, that we have BOTH served the SAME clients multiple times..mainly due to the fact that a customer will ALWAYS come to a location/source that has the item they are looking for. We have BOTH been and continue to be successful..if we weren't you would not be here currently nor would I...so your Horse does not appear to carry you any higher then mine..and I would suggest you learn to talk to people on a level field instead of the constant I am greater then all others....don't believe me just ask me.

My Father taught me an interesting lesson in business when I was in my late teens.

If you want to control your business and destiny, control and own the products you sell.

There has and always will be a place for brokers in any asset class. I have however, always regarded those who risk their money by owning an asset a bit differently than not. Not necessarily better, just different.

I am often asked to sell other people's things but 95% of the time I decline. These aren't perfect objects we're playing with ladies and gentlemen, they have history, they break, they leak, and they have hidden issues. How people respond when these situations come to light is the measure of the person. I have embarrassed myself from time to time by my actions, but largely, my wife and I are proud of our efforts. Going back to a previous owner after a sale asking them to make an adjustment or help with an issue can be challenging. As an owner and not a broker I don't have to call anyone.

You two are not likely going to resolve anything through the use of this forum. At least for myself, I am at a point where I am applying my Dad's other favorite comment , "Consider the source."
