I love my scud, but if it gets valuable enough to cover an Indy Lights season, I may need to part with it.

+1. [flame suit on]I just bought another toy so I can keep the mileage lower on the Scud[flame suit off].

It would have to go up significantly in value before I decide to sell though, and I just don't see that happening, at least not any time soon.

Maybe, unless Scud prices are going up crazy like CS :)

Yeah, I don't see any reason for a sudden rip higher in scud prices. I think they will gradually climb though over time.

Interesting to note that collectible cars in general are climbing substantially. Makes one wonder if this is catching up for lost time (great recession) or a bubble.

I think it's a combo of both personally. There will probably be some sort of correction or cooling off at some point.

I agree on that too, the scuds took a major hit a few years back, it time to really appreciate what a Scuderia is really is and what it's worth.

Think it will follow the pattern of the CS eventually....but may take another 5-7 years as it was made that amount of time after.

This piece of machinery has some notoriety - Fastest SCT ever produced by a production car. It will have merit in history.

Agree that the market is in a bubble right now. I have a CGT and the market rise in the past 6 months has been out of control and seems unsustainable. About a 1 1/2 yrs ago they were being sold for $350k. Asking prices are now $800k-$1 mil. But true selling prices may be in the order of $500-700k. Dealers seem to be trying to inflate the selling prices to push the market prices upwards.

Simon long time! Another Scud! Great move. How do you compare it to your 458?

Looks like the 09 Yellow Scud Ferrari Long Island had for 279k is sold. Not sure how much they sold it for. It had about 7k miles on it.

I bought my Nero '08 last week with 15,500 miles on it for $170k. There was a nero with yellow accents/calipers at San Fran Ferrari that sold for $170k a month ago. When I brought this to my dealers attention, he agreed to come $10k off asking. Hence the $170k price I paid.

Congrats ; price seems right/good at $170K. I am considering to buy another Scud to keep my 16M accompanied; my friend has 2 (08 and 09) and is asking $180K for the 08 one - 8K miles ... I am tempted.

$180k seems like a good price. What's the color combination?

Scud is much higher production numbers than the CS FYI. At least double, and perhaps more since exact numbers aren't really known.

I paid mid-170s for mine a year ago with 8k miles. You can see the spec in my profile if that helps you make a decision. Good luck!

There was a post from a guy in Italy here that had a friend at the factory who claimed worldwide production of the CS was around 1200 and Scud\16M was just under 1600.....take that with a grain of salt of course..... . But obviously there were more Scuds produced.

Gotcha. I've heard a number of logical explanations. At least double is probably a poor statement on my part. It should probably be - perhaps as many as twice as many Scuds.

Either way, that is really low compared to a lot of other cars obviously.

I remember some economics in college....I recall that SUPPLY is only one part of the equation...you need another thing called DEMAND. People assume that demand for Scuds is the same as the CS, thus it will never reach the same dynamics as the CS. Who can really predict? Over the next few years, we may find the market feels the Scud is the superior car over the CS, and thus in greater demand. If this greater demand cannot be met by the prevailing supply (even with more Scuds in existence than CS's)...then prices rise...

It is all a lot of guessing on everyone's part....but Scud owners are all hopeful I am sure. We definitely have one owner on Ferrarichat that is pretty much a one man cheering team for Scud prices rising... ;)
