I believe 365 BB's did not come with door mounted mirrors from the factory. I believe the few different styles we see on the cars were dealer installed. Thoughts?

I would say like 308's they came with a left mirror at least and a reinforcement bracket mounted inside the door. The right would be optional.

    Good day Geno,

Reviewing the Owner's Manual's Pictures it would appear that it agrees with your assessment that door mirrors were not Factory installed.

    Cheers,

    Sam

I took this picture at the Ferrari dealer in 1975. The BB was delivered new in Canada with no outside mirror. Their other 365 BB in dark blue also was delivered with no outside mirror to.

Thank you all. I was 99% sure that 365 BBs came with out mounted mirrors when new.

I would not want to drive one without mirrors.

I have a copy of the so called "Big Red Book" published by Ferrari in 1974 that contains a photo of the V12 production line including a couple of Boxers with round style chrome door mirrors on the driver's side. However note these are RHD cars.

Well at least on all the early UK RHD cars that I've found photos of they didn't have them. They weren't compulsory in the UK like they are now.

I prefer my one without and it's fine to drive, I just turn my head and read the road through the rear view mirror.

That looks like the later car pictured; the BB 512 with the small rectangular lights mounted low in the front grill. Plus the vent, low down in front of the rear tire on the bluish green car.
Interesting picture but a later period car!

I dont see louvers in the rear clam shells which says early 365. Also note the clamshell comes to a point on the forward edge of the wheel opening. 365 with 100% certainty.

Note clamshell differences ahead of rear wheel. 365 lid comes to a point because the cabin panel is longer and the 512 has a wider more balanced look in my opinion regarding that detail. The cabin line was moved forward on the 512 so it almost parallels the door shut line. Now look at the 74 production line pic again at the tip of the blue car's open clam shell, it comes to a point.
