For me would be good for the brand to allow more availability of parts and tech info for models that the majority of owners are no longer servicing at the dealers.

Once they trickle down so to speak. Good for the brand to keep older cars on the road, and I think the resale prices would increase. Wouldn't hurt new sales, or service one bit.
