I remember seeing one (prob this very one) in Essex as a kid when it was pretty new.

    Hi

Yes, it used to have a rear wing. There was only one UK RHD LP500S, only one UK RHD yellow QV and one UK RHD yellow Anniversary....tho a second RHD yellow Anniversary was delivered to South Africa and another RHD car has been resprayed yellow in Australia.

Here it is when it still had a wing...not my photo - from the web somewhere...note the number plate is the same.

Hey all - What can you guys tell me about this image? It is too clean to be an actual image from the 70s ( I can be wrong) Tail lights are different, glass frame is different. I am thinking it is an LP400 made to look like the Prototype? And I am aware that the first prototype was crashed. Could someone have restored it?

Also take a look at this interesting tail light on this Japanese Countach, it replicating that of the prototype.

I am thinking of designing a 2016 Countach, keeping a lot of its features but make the rear end look nice and simple like the first prototype.

The car looks absolutely gorgeous!!! I always loved the unspoiled lines of the LP400.

Robert - Thanks for reply and clarification, it makes sense that both these RHD cars were procured through Portman, I figured that but did not want to speculate. I still have CAR magazine from the '70s and '80s with some awesome Lambo ads by Portman.

Trevor's metallic burgundy car had two issues I distinctly remember (27 years later!):
    1) The paint on the front trunk lid was lifting (like a bubble) in a fairly large circular pattern (about the size of a salad plate) due to some foreign contamination when the car was painted at the factory.

    2) The car had a hugely expensive factory fitted Alpine stereo that was fitted on top of the dash in front of the passenger and covered in tan leather and the leather was lifting due to being poorly fitted and glued down and unfortunately made the interior look cheap. However the Alpine components were beautiful and the best and most expensive car stereo available at the time.

I never saw Frankie's black '88.5 QV CT, even though he lived very close to my parents, back then he also owned a really sweet early black turbo Esprit (blow through turbo with twin Dellortos model) and I used to see that car from time to time.
