hey guys, it kills me to say, but i am thinking of selling my 2012 FF. I've had a bunch of problems with the car. Everything has been fixed, but i can't afford not having a DD for 3 weeks at a time with no loaner car.

    anyhow, what do you think?

    2015 G63 or 2014 Turbo S.

Keep in mind, i have a 2014 Aventador Roadster and live in Canada.

    sigh.

    thanks!

You get your cookies off in the Lambo, obviously need a capable all weather car for daily.
Order the upcoming G65, much rarer then G63 and easier to live with.

Not sure I can even get the G65 in Canada. Regardless, I'm more concerned the G63/G65 is not as fun to drive. I am used to driving sports cars.

    my car history:

    911 Targa 4S - DD / McLaren 12c - Fun
Ferrari FF - DD / Aventador - Fun (although it's not that fun)

the extra amount of money for the G65 isn't worth it for me.

When you say Turbo S did you mean the Panamera? I'd say Panamera is probably the "closest" replacement to the FF. How long do you plan on keeping said replacement?

    hey Keith - 911 Turbo S, 100%.

Length of time? until i get bored i guess. usually 1-2 years!

Oh well then in that case I guess it's never that big of a decision, haha! The 911 Turbo S is a beast but is a bit "lacking" in feeling relative to other cars (and is really different from an FF). If you want a 911 would you consider the GTS? Probably the last naturally aspirated 911 for a while...

What requirements for your FF replacement do you have?

The FF is a DD that needs to drive in the winter, thats pretty much it. I live alone, so I don't really need storage or back seats!

I love unique cars, and that's really the only thing pushing me towards a G63.

If i am getting a 911, Turbo S is the only option for me :) I drove a normal Turbo and it was crazy fun and FAST.

Well that's good that opens up the world of possibilities. I'd argue a Turbo S isn't all that unique (since there are a million P-cars and 911s "all look the same") but it's an amazing car none the less.

Moving away from a Ferrari is such a difficult predicament once you've gotten to experience the good life...

Assuming you live close to a Porsche dealer I'd say the 991 Turbo S is a great AWD choice.

I'm a bit confused. You say your FF is now fixed but it seems you're still worried you won't have a DD (the FF) for 3 weeks at a time with no loaner?

Does that mean your 2012 FF problems are likely to recur and your dealer is not providing a loaner DD? WTF.

it's fixed for now, but it has on and off problems all the time.

my dealer does not provide a loaner. That's Ferrari of Ontario.

Sorry to see that! Seeing that the FF is your winter DD, they really should provide you with something to tie you over if they need to work on your car over the cold weather season. It's not like you can drive your Lambo instead. FoO is part of the Remo Ferri Group so I imagine they can access X5s, Jeeps, Navigator, Subie...etc. if they needed to.

Sorry to hear. May I ask what type off problems? I just picked up my FF a week ago and I was looking forward to a more reliable car than the 599 GTB it replaced.

I've had a G55 in the past and I love/hate it. Love the build/look/solid feel. Cannot stand the ride in the thing... the truck is on leaf springs. Maybe they've changed it for the G63, but my guess is it is still bumpy as hell. Also, get ready to fill up 2x a week, that thing gets like 8mpg

S63 is AWD ... Have you considered a Tesla? Both somewhat unique. RR Sport supercharged will equal G65 performance ... Could also be an option.

Panamera Turbo S is the most direct replacement, I'd think.

the bigger question here is what isn't working with the car, or the service/repair. We've had the opposite experience with our FF.

to your question, if you "are single, and don't need the room or the space", I'd get a Turbo S and run some aggressive winter tires. Or, save a pile, get a WRX STI and have it professionally built up - it's not a Ferrari or Porsche, but a WRC-esque clone in the winter can be fun.

As for G-wagens....we went through this months back. While they are VERY cool, we went with a Cayenne Turbo S (as we need the room) as the "SUV" for the family. If you want something more SUV-ish, it's the X5M vs. RR Sport vs. Cayenne Turbo S.

Keep your FF and rent a car while it's down - You've already have taken most the depreciation
Why not have fun Plus it won't be the same with any other car - IMO

I have a FF and a G63. I love both but the G63 is really cool. I've had 6 G's to date. The G63 is lights years better than the G55 when it comes to ride quality. The G65 is going to be extremely rare but I'm not sure it's different enough to justify the huge premium.

FWIW - If reliability is a concern, my G55 was one of the worst vehicles I ever owned in that category. Turned into a real love/hate situation and ultimately got rid of it. Did I have an outlier? Maybe. But from what I've heard from other FF owners it appears you did as well.
