When I sold my CS I wasn't planning on replacing with another F-car for a while, but for the past few months I missed being able to admire the car in the garage and polishing every nook and cranny in the engine bay over a cigar/scotch. I thought I could get some of the experience from a Maserati GranTurismo but that was very short lived... so here is my personal experience going from a CS -> Scud

Without a doubt the CS exhaust note sound better, it howls at just the right note vs. the scud's deeper note. For the first few day of ownership I also thought the CS looks better; thou today I am starting to notice the beauty of the razor sharp lines on the scud and how much more modern it looks.

As for driving experience there is just no comparison! The scud just does everything better, it shifts smoother around town, faster screaming to redline, it rides better over bumps, it corners flatter/more stable, and it is SO MUCH faster! It "feels" as fast a GTR/458 thou I didn't bother looking up any test data.

If the CS/Scud pricing should cross one day, It would be hard to imagine why anyone would select the CS over the Scud unless he/she had a multiple car collection. The Scud is the perfect driver's Ferrari, not dull and overly smooth like the 458 and not dated (in terms of performance) like the CS (Flame suit on). I can't think of any other car I would rather have in my garage.

    My man. That sounds lovely.

Thanks for the comparison. Though it's been done before it's good to her different perspectives.

It's interesting, I've heard others who favor the CS, even after owning a Scud. Different strokes for different folks. They are both great cars.

Happy for you T! I had a feeling you may be back in an Italian soon. I'm the very happy recipient of his old CS so it appears we both came out very happy in this.

I want to compliment T that he helped make the sale of the CS about as easy and painless as you can imagine and was a true gentleman throughout the entire sale process. Good things happen to good people.

Hi monte, I shed a little tear when I saw the photos of the cs being unloaded, she looked so amazing. She is probably loving the weather out there!

Nice comparison. The scud feeling/experience much like a 360cs is what Ferrari is all about. The Lexus like smooth feeling 458 and the next replacement will only make scuds more in demand.

If this happens, or has already happened, it has nothing to do with either cars "performance".

Great post. Love to read about the comparison. I keep shopping Scud's thinking I may get one.

Is this the one you were looking at with the gray interior? Beautiful car and congratulations!

+1 on the capristo switch. Very inexpensive and completely changes the sound and character during normal driving. Best of all..when you want to turn down the volume you can..

First I've heard of this exhaust control. Is this the one you're referring to?:

Standard Remote Control Kit (OEM & CAPRISTO)

I have remote exhaust valve control on my V12 Vantage. The default on startup is valves always open (loud) and it switches to OEM operation (valves closed at low rpms; valves open at high rpms) when you hit the button. Does the Capristo version work the same way?

Yes, when u hit the switch the exhaust stays open all the time - probably best to not use it until temps come up when starting

Excellent choice and review. Tough to beat the scud when it comes to exciting modern day drivers cars. I am missing my scud ...

Scud is a great car... It's the only car I would consider trading my CS for.

Wow, your flame suit seems to be working! I'm shocked!

Congrats on the car. White is the best color!

CS over Scud for me price being the same :) Love the styling and the sound. Scud is obviously the faster newer better car. ;)

Definitely a performance bargain for where they are trading at.

a blast from the past, I just want to update that I've sold the scud last year. Out of all the cars I've owned, the CS is the only car that I constantly reminisce about. Hoping for another market crash so I may get back in one :)

I'm in the same boat you were in back a few years ago. Sold my CS, bought a '15 C63 AMG 507, got bored, now 9 months later, bought a Scud. Wasn't in the color scheme I wanted but for the price in an upticking market, I couldn't pass on it. Had the calipers professionally painted and it's getting wrapped in the color all Ferrari's should be. :) I do miss the CS as it's the only car I "loved" for a long time. I don't "love" the Scud yet but I've only had it a week. We'll see how I feel when I get it back from the wrappers.
