I am a 25 year old male, with many speeding tickets (few on my record), and no accidents. I just added my new red 1985 Mondial QV cab to my geico policy and couldn't believe what it is costing me... I gave them the vin, told them what I paid, that it would be for pleasure and it is going to cost me, with full coverage/$500 deductibles, drum roll..... $14.61 a month!
Hi - - just for $hits & giggles, did your "insurance agent" flash open an overcoat, to reveal some "real Rolex watches for the unheard of price of just $25.00" ?? Not possible (but do try to make me eat these words) Cheers, Hank
Can you define "full coverage?" What are your liability limits? BI/person, BI/aggregate, Property Damage (to others)
Geico doesn't have agreed upon value though, right? So, in effect, if you totaled it, would they look at all past 6-12 months of confirmed "Sold" vehicles to determine a value? My '82 is insured with Hagerty. $1,000 deduct, 5,000 miles a year, full coverage, liability, comp etc with an agreed value of $24,000 (that took me sending in 2 color photos). My premium is approx. $530 a year. I'm 29, no speeding or traffic violations in past 12 years.
I live in a major metroplex (Dallas/Fort Worth), am mid 50's male, with a clean driving record (in the past 10 years). I insured my 85 Mondial QV ($25000) and 67 VW Karmann Ghia vert ($10000) with Hagerty for a combined sum of $430. I choose the highest coverage they offer. Sid
You better check with your agent and see what they will value your car at if it gets totaled. I insure my stuff with State Farm and when I talked to my agent about agreed value on my Mondial he told me he wasn't sure he would have to check. I insured it with Hagerty 86 coupe agreed value 32k zero deductible, roadside assistance for 594 a year.
I called yesterday and set the value at $30,000 and upped my coverage to $500,000 for all categories. It raised it to $27.17 per month.
My insurance is £225 p.a. (about $2.00 I guess) agreed value £20k and limited to 3000 miles a year, but then I am VERY old
Belgium. Male 45yo. 5000 km limit yearly. Registered as oldtimer. (the car!!!!, not me) Agreed value 23.000. Not used as primary vehicle. Adds 119 a year to my normal insurance of my DD as I'm the sole driver in the family. Best Jurgen
What is the agreed value on your car and also your deductible? I've been very happy with State Farm, I've had 2 claims and had zero issues on collecting them.
I have classic auto insurance on my 82 M8 and the agreed value of 25,000 with 3,000 a year miles with 2,000 roadside parts, towing, hotel fees etc. it is insured as a classic with classic plates. My insurance is 240.00 USD a year with a 500 deductible.
That sounds about like mine here in Canada: I have "Silverwheels" classic car insurance company, $CDN 33,000 replacement value, $100 deductible and pay $CDN 278 per year. Had the cracked windshield replaced (OEM) and they paid nearly $7K without any fuss, and my premium did not go up! My mechanic told me that I should park the car at a dark street corner and "forget" the key inside...
I'm also with State Farm and I have my 92 T insured as a normal car with no restrictions on mikes, etc and pay just under 100/month which I felt was great but now feel like I'm over paying.
Mine is $64 a month for 500K coverage - with Amica I have zero points though and never have gotten in an accident (thanks God) so that probably helped Image Unavailable, Please Login
