Is the FF's rear legroom substantially greater than in the 456? I was parked next to an FF at our Saturday cars and coffee awhile back and it sure didn't look like the rear passenger had any place to put their feet there either.
yes def a lot bigger. if the front seats are all the way back it doesn't look like much but there is a lot of space compared to the 456
Thanks. I thought that was the case; owner, who I didn't have a chance to meet since I had to leave early, must be fairly tall, I guess.
Ill throw one of the kids back there if we end up together leaving some place...95% of the time when I have one kid theyre in the front seat....barely use the back....its functional when you absolutely need it but theres nothing fun or convenient about getting in and out....in 3 yrs and 20k miles maybe theres been an adult back there twice or 3 times at most.
A 456 question...I entered my 456 yesterday here in California with the ambient temperature ~97 F. I could not touch the gear shift it was so hot to the touch. I know others must have had the same experience, so I am asking what remedies, if any, are available?
The 456 has a more elegant rear roof,at least in my opinion. Havent sat in an FF but definitly poor rear headroom in my 456, Not made for adults on a long trip, but my dog loves it.
I think your profile says you have an autobox; if so, then the simple knob replacement won't work because of the need to deal with the lock button.
456 is way prettier - the ff is downright ugly. only from the front are they even close...every other angle the 456 wins by a long shot....don't get me wrong, I love the FF but id be lying if I said I thought it was good looking. the 456 and 612 are aesthetically pleasing. the ff truly does everything else perfectly.
I would never buy a Ferrari because it does everything perfectly, I bought one because it was beautifully flawed. And I still like the lines of the 456 a lot, akin to a modern interpretation of the pop-up headlight 365 Daytona, whereas the 550 is more like the earlier run of 365s that had the flush-lights. Both beautiful in different ways. -H
Thanks for Posting the chances of a 456 and FF together in Sydney so the pictures make a fabulous photo graphic comparison. I prefer the looks of the 456 and I do like the Daytona inserts in the seats. shame mine does not have them.
I used to keep an old sock under the seat to put over the shift knob when I am going to leave the car out in the sun. I have thought about using a golf club cover/sock for a little more class. I have also put a styrofoam cup over it sometimes. It still gets ambient hot, but you don't have to directly touch it that way.
