Does seem a little odd that he hasn't answered the question at the centre of this, despite repeated asking. It's not like you can remain anonymous if you have a successful app. It will be pretty common knowledge who wrote it.

There are hundreds and hundreds of apps generating enough to make payments on a 458, its not like he's saying he sold to Apple or MSFT for $XB :)

I do the same thing as you.. but at a startup that by Q1 2016 will, hopefully, be very big... all the right people are behind it :)... anyways enough rambling...

    Congratulations!! Gorgeous.

Also just as a FYI for everyone else.. I too get asked all the time if I have created any revelant or popular apps... but the reality is:

You don't have to create a popular or well-known app in order to receive a lot of cash for developing it... there is a lot of investment money and angel investors just throwing money around. I guess you just have to have the coding expertise and know the right people.

There are many apps you know. Some apps might be less appropriate than others... There's an app a friend of my wife's showed us the other day, called KinkySex. Not sure I'd want that on my plates:D

Lol! I was not expecting this thread to get so popular. It's true, there are lots of others at my age doing better than I am, but isn't that always the case? I know a lot of you have been wondering what apps I've developed but for personal reasons I'd like to keep that confidential. What I can say however, is that my money comes from multiple sources including mobile apps and web SaaS (Software as a service). And no, I haven't sold any yet.

Some words of advice though: You don't have to have the most unique idea to start making some money. Package together a product that can be useful to a certain market, come up with a good marketing strategy (you don't have to be a marketing expert to do this, just find out where your market is and how you can reach them), and have the balls to fall through with the idea.

I personally love subscription based software because it makes it easier to rely on the income. I'll be happy to answer any other questions you guys may have :)

    plya, congrats on the purchase!

I'd suggest subscribing to the site. It opens up a few other areas that might interest you or might just eat up more of your time. There's also an owner's section, where you can be verified as an owner to dispel the doubters.
