Not too many visible ANDIAL mods left on my 1975 Turbo. In the 1970s, they installed the boost gauge, trunk strut brace and racing harness seatbelt mounts. The ANDIAL windshield decal and original ANDIAL plate frame were probably removed in 1980 by the second owner. One ANDIAL mod that is still in place is the transmission final gear ratio change that was in installed by the July 1975 Porsche Parade in Seattle.

really nice photos......but is this really a hole above the tag (color code)?
If so, that car might carry a lot of "surprises"
    :))

May be a dent rather than a hole but it’s always tough to see details with dark colors. Nice that it appears to have the original VIN decal on the door jamb that was not removed during the re-spray.

Also sloppy work. What a shame, especially on this car?

However with some serious detail would look much better. The aging rubber cover over the light switch maybe replaced when painted?

Mcqueens car looks a little rough.. the monterey car has later turbo brakes, will this take away from the value?

I don't think so. The McQueen 2.2 S was sold for around one million dollar and was sent to Germany immediately after that for an almost 200.000 euro restoration. I think this car would be quite ok after the same procedure...

So it is difficult to price the Mcqueen car, but what do you think the green car will go for?

Is any buying the story of 0014 being a prototype? I could see it if was one the first 10 US VIN cars. 930's had been in production for a while before they were imported in US. Understand the need to have car EPA certified but I don't think that qualifies car as a prototype. Nice early 930, maybe the lowest VIN US car you could buy, why not leave it at that.

I think preproduction vs. prototype is a better term for 1976 Turbo Carrera's #0011-0014. I think they are pretty special being the first Turbo Carreras in the U.S. used to qualify for road homologation and emissions. They also had very early builds of Sep ‘75 http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/143564309-post3064.html and were the only U.S. 930s to ever have rear bumper RoW reflectors fitted. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/143225364-post2611.html Unfortunately, #0014’s were removed even before it appeared in Henry Rasmussen’s book, “Porsche Six Cylinder Supercars” in 1992. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/143793742-post3619.html

I’m not sure why the auction description mentions that #0011 and #0012 never left Germany since those are the first two cars that were imported to the U.S. (#0011 currently in Denver, CO and #0012 stolen in LA and may be in gone forever).

Rich, now that we know more about the car's history, I agree with this.

Rich - thanks for expanding on the history 0011-0014, I would accept the term pre-production. Is 0015 considered first production US 930?

Magnus Walker's silver Turbo Carrera #0015 (Oct ’75 build) was the first U.S. production turbo. Somewhere on Magnus' blog he has an article posted (perhaps from Total 911) and it mentions that when he visited the Porsche factory they showed him the build sheet for #0015 and confirmed it was the first production Turbo Carrera in the U.S. (#0011-0014 being preproduction cars with Sep '75 builds).

I found my 1976 MITCOM catalog and noticed the 1975 tail photo looked familiar. Upon closer inspection, I could just make out a CB radio antenna whip in the lower right of the photo. MITCOM must have used a photo of my 1975 Turbo as a model for their tail catalog ad. Their catalog listed them as 1975 Carrera wings and they were $250 without the black spoiler or small secondary grill. The small grill was $24.95 and the spoiler was an additional $98.50. Many of these MITCOM repro all fiberglass tails with small secondary grills have been advertised in the used parts market with many being sold as ‘75/76 originals.

The catalog has some great period photos including one of the Beverly Porsche + Audi billboard featuring MITCOM's RSR Carrera. It would have been very cool to see this billboard in person back in 1975 and 1976.

That 77 had was listed on Hemmings for $161k, on ebay 2x meet reserve first time at $122k but did not sell, next time did not meet reserve at $92k. For a car that needs an engine rebuild and quite a bit of work I'm not sure I'd classify it as a great deal for current ask.
