id love to see where laf trades if production ends up being 1200, which im pretty sure wont come close.

I spend too much time wondering where the f50, enzo, and 288 wld trade if they had made 1200 or whatever total production was for the f40 globally

Everyone is different in what they are enthusiastic about.

However, it would be good to hear from someone who owns F40, F50, Enzo & La Ferrari. Like my client Bill S. He is a huge Enzo enthusiast.

However I'll predict in 20 years (probably sooner) the Enzo will assuredly be more valuable than the LaF as it will be viewed as the genesis of the technological revolution at Ferrari (for lack of a better term), whereas the LaFerrari was just a continuation of that having been surpassed by the next one or two generations of supercar Ferraris.

I think you could look as the LaFerrari as the first hybrid/electric infused Ferrari. It could end up being hugely important to Ferrari -or not. Time will tell. History will judge. I think the point about them all being like snowflakes- its true. So each of us reacts differently to cars. Thats what makes it fun! I love them all but the F40 is my favorite.

For me the 288 gets the ball rolling, the F40 is the iconic super car, the F50 tries to outdo its predecessor and fails and succeeds at the same time (for me), the Enzo is the beginning of a new era, the LaF builds on this but adds hybrid/electric.

I also think you could look at Enzo values vs LaF values as one being new to the market- we don't know the whole story with how many LaF will be made etc. The Enzo is known. I'm not so sure I'd use the Enzo as the basis for LaF prices. I'd just ask: how much is it worth to you now.

Can Ferrari make more than 499 LaFerrari's now that they have stated to buyers their car is limited edition 1 of 499? Isn't that breaking some kind of seller promise?

If they did would the next 100 (or however many) cars over 499 all say 1 of 499 On them and if so isn't that some kind of FTC violation?

Will be interesting to see if enthusiasts prefer the more "raw" and visceral electronics, automated transmissions, traction control and stability systems of the earlier cars.

They made officialy 399 Enzos plus 1 for the Pope.

Hint:There are a bit more than 400 Enzos roaming around.

IMHO, the F40 is vastly overrated. The next limited production cars were better. As Enzo used to say, the best Ferrari is the next one.

Very few people would say an F50 is better than an F40..

The way around this is pre and post production run cars. The car has a limited production run of 499. They can build some extra on either end.

They can also add a few horsepower or change it slightly and call it a LaFerrari M or something like that. Or make another 499 La Ferrari Spiders. On the 599 SA Aperta I believe that Ferrari said they were making 80 and someone collected the VIN numbers and found they made over 120. This is the kind of consumer fraud that allows lawyers to make money...ha. if I didn't like the brand so much, I would have some fun

The F40: Huge turbo lag, then a kick in the arse. Understeery on corner entry, then oversteery when the turbos remember to kick in. Unruly behaviour, slow steering, so-so brakes and recalcitrant gearbox. Yet some people thinks it's the best thing since sliced bread... The F50 was much better at everything. The Enzo was much better than the F50. The LaFerrari is much better than then Enzo.

I thought when they actually tested the two the f40 was the faster/better performer - maybe it was the chriss Harris f40 vs f50 vid? can't remember

Have a watch of that Chris Harris video and look at which one he's truly enjoying more. That is the only measure that matters to me when I drive a car- how much am I enjoying it. Ferrari is the king of making you smile.

    True.

But the F40 is so much fun!

Seriously, its from a previous era, why should we expect it to be better?

A few journalists said the F40 is the best and then the echo chamber picked it up and now everyone says its the best.

If this the video you refer to, he is clearly enjoying both, but in a different way I would say. In the end, he voted for the F40...T
