I should have done that earlier. Made pizza for dinner and had a beer to go with it. Might crack another but it's getting too late to start a fire and a good stogie now. First beer was Ninkasi Total Domination.

I'm not a Scotch drinker, but even I like JW Blue. What a great brother you are, Tamas!

    Thanks Tom!

JW blue is good but for the price I'd pass In the future. Would rather have two bottles of some Laphroaig.

check out Asimov's column in Wednesday's NY Times... he features about 6 roses although they are pricey. I like the bandols and the wines of provence. If you have the total wine chain in TX a good everyday rose is Domaine Fontanyl (Provence). Make sure you get the 2014...Roses are meant to be fresh and drunk as young as possible. This wine is about $14, low alcohol and delish. Do not serve these roses ice cold...just a good chill

Tom...it is difficult to keep up with all of the micro producers and names so do what I do on imports: let a reliable importer do the heavy lifting. I recommend wines imported by: Kermit Lynch; Neal Rosenthal; Becky Wasserman; Robert Kacher and Eric Solomon are all good names.

Happy Birthday to your brother, and you apparently!! :)

No idea he made a wine. Sounds like it might be one to keep an eye out for. May not see much of it up here in the NW though.

I had a nice Lambrusco tonight with some homemade chicken parmesan. The chicken wasn't the best I've made, realized I was out of eggs after getting home with what I thought was all I needed to make dinner, and improvised. Was ok but not great.

The Lambrusco was nice though. Refreshingly sweet and slightly bubbly to go along with the chicken and pasta. A good Lambrusco is good once in awhile once the weather warms up. Give it a try. :)

I had my first taste of real backwoods moonshine last night. Very smooth and powerful with an odd corn finnish. It wasn't flavored. Very different than I had expected.
    Good though....
