Not necessarily, in this case. I think this track suits Nico's driving style. He hasn't been threatened from the first corner.

I do agree that in a close race between equal cars, the advantage is with the guy in front, even with DRS.

Great diversion from the real issue. Point is Kimi deserves a penalty.

Kimi deserves a penalty? Do you know ANYTHING about racing? he had wheelspin and got hit in the rear. The following driver is supposed to avoid running into the back of the ahead car

Kimi was on FRONT of Alonso. Verstappen was BEHIND Grosjean. There's the difference. Now, put your helmet back on.

    Yah Alonso seemed really outraged.

    Google "racing incident".

Back to normal discussion - hopefully Vettel can catch Massa.

Well if you get 5 seconds pen for grazing a white line you should get a penalty for not being able to control your car halfway down a straight

    Isn't that proving my point?

Nico was always complaining about Lewis beating him. The lewis fanbois loved pointing out how lewis dominates and nico can never get close.

finally, nico is in front and guess what? lewis nowhere to be seen!

    Point proven!

I'm certain the penalty would have been more draconian had the infraction affected someone else's race. I don't think you need a pit-stop punishment for every infraction. What if Nico was unable to get his speed down to the pit lane limit for 50 meters..would he deserve a drive thru (20 sec) penalty? I think not.

Ric served the 5-sec in the pits but had a tire stop anyway.

Nico got pole many times last year and Lewis passed him. Depends on the track. The cars aren't radically different at the front now...

Though I think this is the only time (in recent races anyway and I think last year too) that Nico beats lewis when lewis qualified ahead (monaco not counting).
