The standard Ferrari F1 script: The replay could show all four tires falling off, and the driver isn't supposed to blame the car. ;)

    "You can't say that! It's a Ferrari!" :p

Was it '08 when Kimi said he had trouble with the bump at one street circuit, and much *much* later the team admitted a mechanical failure?

Drivers come and go, but brand marketing is forever. :D

Why does everyone in this section have such a bad attitude? LOL.

I hadn't heard that, because it had not been reported yet. Max went inside at the last moment which appeared to be an attempt to block Maldonado who had better pace. Even the announcing crew said so...then Pastor went outside with a bunch of big corrections...max went off.

Nico was flawless today while Lewis just seemed off the entire weekend. It is great to see the championship so close even if it between the two Mercedes drivers again.

Kimi is just a mess lately. Slow, sloppy and completely uninterested is how I would describe his driving and demeanor. Go get an ice cream Kimi and let a worthy driver take the wheel.

    Go Felipe!

He just has to make sure he's in front. Makes the world of difference.

What did the stewards have to say about this incident?

It's high praise indeed when even Crashtor says Max went too far. Good for Max!

I was very pleased with the way Nico drove today and always seemed to have it over Lewis. Otherwise a very boring race.

There was some great racing between max and crash. Honestly, I thought pastor was going to hit him. I'm glad to see neither touched. I agree; he seems like the real deal.

I'm not one of the guys who thinks F1 is dead and it sucks and all that... but I have to say I'm becoming less enthused each week. It's almost like the outcome is pretty much set... Merc take the pole, pole wins the race, Ferrari best of the rest, Williams can be there if the chips fall the right way. The outcomes are almost etched in stone.

When I'm looking at Maldonado to see racing... I have to start scratching my head a bit. The race was one of the most boring yet... I thought the cars just looked slow around the track... maybe it was just the TV or how it's filmed or the nature of the track... but they just looked slow with everyone just following 2 seconds behind the next.

I hope the FIA start listening and do actually implement changes. When the strategy group themselves flat out state they're ineffective... someone ought to listen.

And good Lord... what's up with Kimi? Another weird incident that he simply cannot explain. He's lucky he didn't get his hand shaved off in that wreck. I don't know if it's just an act... but his constant aloof flippant attitude about things that should be answered has just gotten old for me.

This year will be like last... unless Merc hurt themselves or have reliability issues... no one is going to legitimately beat them (sorry Ric... love you like brother from another mother... but your wins came at the failings of Merc) Seb was the only one so far to straight up beat them... but as much of a Seb that I am... I just don't see that happening again. Hope I'm wrong.

I dunno... we'll see. Nothing yet... including the token spend by Ferrari can match just a fresh engine of the Mercs.

And what happens when Merc start spending their remaining tokens? I can only imagine they're testing and retesting over and over again right now to use those tokens on only the most usable upgrades.

Like I said... hope I'm wrong.

This season is over unless the teams decide to allow Renault and Honda to catch up on engine dev. Correction - it's over regardless of what the teams allow to happen. Merc are on track to smash every record in the book this year, and Ferrari will coast to second. The rest? Who cares as they aren't contenders.

As for WDC, much though I like the notion of Vet being in the hunt, he isn't really. Its a Ham vs Nico two way battle and that one will go to Ham unless he looses his head or has massive and disproportionate mechanical DNFs…

On to next year folks. (But I'll still watch the races 'cos I'm addicted…)

I said the same at race one, no way any challenge will come unless the rules are thrown in the air, and that's unlikelier than Putin becoming the next pope!

The good news here, after having some time to process it, is that Nico is closer to Hamilton now - just 10 points. That means they are both going to fight harder and that fighting may open the door to attacks from other teams if they result in mistakes - contact, destroying their brakes, burning up fuel, offs, etc. Team orders can be hard to follow when every point counts and you are close enough to attack. We'll see...being optimistic.

I'm honestly surprised that Nico has come back so strongly. I'm glad that he adjusted his attitude with the help of Lauda. Good for him.

Nico had help from Lauda? Did I miss something? What's that about?
