Marshal Goldman just listed two 98 355s, both in red/tan.

One is a GTB for 189k and the other is a GTS for 180k.

Both Red and Tan and Both '98's

    The Berlinetta has 1,600 miles

    The GTS has 8,900 miles.

So low mileage is the trump card on those prices.

    Thanks for the update.

Don't forget their $260k Spider? I don't know how that place sells cars they're always high and never seem willing to deal.

Never understood the fixation some buyers have on cars with uber low mileage as opposed to well-maintained, regularly driven cars. After all, would you rather have a 12 year old virgin or a sorority sister? Wait, don't answer.

I'd want her young to put my own miles on her but I'd put miles on her. Buying a 2,000 mile car only to look at is just stupid.

I believe that depends on your financial situation. For me it would not make sense but if I had a lot of money I would have an entire warehouse filled with cars like this.

It is very simple, it's asked all the time. Ferrari's are collectable.

Collectors want a car with no miles - they are buying a piece of art work. They are very wealthy and often have no time to drive cars - and sit down! Many have vast interest and driving around sports cars may be #10 on the personal priority list of things they want to. They also have 3-5 cars that they do drive - many of the cars in the collections NEVER get driven. They have large collections.

People are different, what is not to understand?

This is spot on. I work for one of those people. It is art. It is an investment. It is a COLLECTION. Just as baseball cards or action figures that are still in the original wrapper are collectables.

When you have a billion dollars 6 or 7 figure cars are just toys. I've seen it with my own eyes for the past decade.

I feel sorry for many of those guys. They are so busy making money that they not only don't have to to drive their cars but don't even drive their wives. Then one day they pull out the jack and it dosnt work.....they are now too old to do either.

I'd imagine they must, because they seem to have a very successful business with an ever changing inventory.

As crazy as their pricing often seems, if you look back, they are generally a few months or maybe a year ahead of the curve with their asking prices. If I recall correctly, they were one of the first to begin marketing TRs as six figure cars, and now look at where those are.

These two examples are certainly optimistic, but if someone wants a low mile GTB or GTS, there simply aren't many other options available at the moment.

I for one don't wish my 355 to go sky high. Thrashing around a $180K car is not the same as trashing around an $80K car. When they start to become "collectible" they stop being fun.

^^^ Doesn't matter to me personally. Worth 50k or 150k I'll drive the car just the same.

Well, I have not seen them move a 355 priced in the six figures....But they also have a 355 spyder priced at $69K, with only 14K miles which will hopefully sell

I would. Parking lot is huge and security drives around.

Really what is the effect to me by higher values? A bit higher insurance cost is all I can think of.

Yes. Ask me how I know! :)

But it is normally in one of the furthest parking spaces known to man.
