    Hi All,

I Have come across a speciale aperta for 2.2 million Dirhams (United Arab Emirates currency). Do you think that's a good price? Worth purchasing?

Seems to be in line with the current global secondary market, perhaps even towards the lower end.

They are going for double that here in the US. I'd jump on it.

Right now the economy is growing, specially in the US, right now we are in the ASCENDING curve of Ferrari natural up and down movement, they have been doing this for decades.

It started something like 8 months ago, right now it's still booming, which means that LIMITED EDITION Ferraris are only gonna improve in the upcoming 2 years at least.

So, to our arab friend, get that car.

In the LA area an owner was offered and refused a $1 million dollar offer for his SA just last week. Local So Cal dealer has one offered at 1.6 million dollars. I'm just sharing the information and everyone can and should make of it what they will. :)

I was offered a 380K MSRP car last week for 600k ... I declined, but now you have me thinking! ;)

Wait what?! Is this the 458 Sepeciale aperta?? That worth increase completely shot by me. That makes the 900k for the auctioned first model a steal! Anyone thinking about selling when it comes to these increases?

With one listed at a so cal dealer reportedly at 1.6 million, I wonder if that deal is still available. It would be interesting to see. :)

Mental paying $1.2m for an Aperta, people are losing touch with reality, you have to be certified insane to pay that, I despair at the human race sometimes and how stupid people can be.

If you look at the price relative to other models that have jumped in the last year or so it doesn't seem all that surprising that some might value the Aperta at 1.2 mil. That's about 3 times msrp. There are some models of LE Ferraris that have increased 2-3 times in that same time frame which I remember just a few years ago you couldn't give away....and look at them now? So a Ferrari like the Speciale Aperta which comes out of the gate with such notoriety and coveted by so many immediately popping is just a sign of the times! That said...no way this is not a bubble. But only time will tell.

I don't know about despair over the human race but there is definitely a touch of madness if people are paying 1.2 mil for this car the year it comes out.

Some folks are billionaires. Less % of their net worth than my 458 spider is of mine. Sigh.

If i had a billion$ would probably order a 488 spider and a 488SA and then trade the spider in when the SA arrived. Different strokes for different folks. Maybe the buyer is a geezer and hasnt much time left (i can relate). ;)

I'm not certain that this isn't a trend. Look at Dino's that are now going for $400k compared to what they were going for just 4 years ago. That's more than the MSRP of the SA and close to MSRP of a new F12 for an older 6 cyl. How does Cavallino magazine place a valuation of 1.3 - 1.5 for the Speciale Aperta and have a similar valuation for the LaFerrari that is between 2 and 3 million at the moment? How these valuations are determined is far above my understanding but it sure has me smiling at the moment. It was difficult parting with my Speciale to get the Speciale Aperta but I just thought that all the stars aligned making it an instant classic. Seems that others have the same impression. Future mid engine V8 ferrari's will be fantastic but they all will most likely be turbo or hybrids. The SA is the last of the NA breed and limited production. Only time will tell where the market settles on the SA. I'm sure that all of us lucky enough to have one hope for a rousing success in that regard. Who wouldn't? :)

Are people mixing up SA Aperta and Speciale Aperta here?

I'm no market expert but I thought the SA Aperta was 1mill+ and the Speciale Aperta was 600ish.

I think the end of an era for the V8 cars is playing a huge role in all of this.

Seems that way. Just talked to a salesman at the f-dealer here and he says the speciale coupes are selling at 400k and apertas around 600k

I wasn't. I meant SA as in Speciale Aperta. That's what's in this edition of Cavillino at 1.3 - 1.5 and is what a local dealer is selling for 1.6. Sorry for any confusion. I type slowly so abbreviations are useful.

Do you have a link? I know Ferrari NB is asking $1.6 for an Aperta, but it's an SA Aperta...

Some things you just have to see to believe ;)

I made this mistake, I read the entire thread thinking SA Aperta and Speciale Aperta were the same, since this thread is in the 458/488 sub-forum. Could not believe the Speciale Aperta was already a $1MM+ car.

    Now I feel better. :)
