Interesting, I wasn't aware of that. What do they reference for vehicle value? Time for Montana plates :)

That does seem to be quite a bit, but as far as I know, no one has ever invented a tax free state. FWIW, Cal rates for income taxes for incomes from $50-250K are 9.3% + $2200. From $508K-1,000,000 it is 12.3% + $50K. So far this year, I've only lost one friend to Nevada - but I don't have many friends. ;)

I don't think the State of Missouri looks at increased values.
Your personal property tax should depreciate every year from the 1st year of ownership.
Mine does. Unless you get your car appraised & send them the appraisal.
I know people who send in car appraisals to pay less taxes not more.

Do you mind sharing what you pay? PM is fine if you don't want to make it public. Also curious about the car appraisal route.

Also, I thought the state goes by current market value?

I called to inquire about the GTS. I hadn't yet seen this post and didn't know the price when I called and was considering trading for my F1 GTS. I was told it sold for asking price.

No of course I don't but it does not take Einstein to figure it out. Just take a look at their listings; these cars have been on sale for quite some time.

For me it's my license plate sticker, they base the cost on the original selling price of the car in Michigan if it was built sometime in the 80's. So it's $500 a year just for tags. The. I have crappy insurance rules as well.

My 82 308 only cost me $25 for tags so vintage cars are cheaper up here.

Wow is right. It was just listed in the past few days right? If that is the case, hold onto your pants boys, this is getting interesting quick.

That was my reaction too. A pristine low mileage red on tan 355 GTS with a manual transmission is my unicorn that I have been hunting for the last several years. The last time I saw an ad for a similar car was about two and a half years ago-sold by Silicon Valley Ferrari. It was for sale for 79,000 if I recall correctly. I had no idea any 355 could sell for 180K. Up until now, it seemed like 355 prices hadn't risen very much compared to other pre-2000 Ferraris. It will be interesting to see if the GTB is sold quickly or not.

Those who follow closely have been reporting on private sales, cars never publicly listed for sale, above $100k for the past 6 months. Probably the exact type of car you have been looking for. They for some time now have been almost exclusively trading hands privately like this. That is why you have never seen them. If this did sell for $180k as fast as it appears it sheds some light on where the private trading prices have been moving at recently.

The one big notable public sale was the $198k paid at auction a couple months ago for a Fiorano.

If I sold mine for $1 or $200,000 I would miss this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=osqzb3J3Fic&feature=youtu.be

I'm sure a CS is better car but damn the f355 sounds too good.

    Great video!
Both great cars - I love both
If a gun to my head I'd keep my 355 and I'd sell the cs

You've nailed it. F355 stays while acquiring or rotating through other Ferrari's. :)

Anyone else here heard of vast.com? They have over 80 355s for sale at some very interesting prices. A 1999 silver berlinetta 6 speed, 15k miles, for 56k??? A red/tan 97 GTS with 31k miles 6 speed for 58k? Never heard of this website before and am wondering if this is legit. If so, someone might get a steal here.
