Pshep can post them. I ran out until I bite the bullet and subscribe.

I find it amusing to see that within a month, three hardcore edition Ferrari's (Scud, Scud 16M, and Speciale) are purchased by Omaha residents. Hope to see them all out this summer.

Omaha has a lot of very very nice cars. One of Ferrari of Denvers best customers lives in Omaha. He has every Ferrari super car, and I think he was awarded a LaFerrari. I would say for its location and climate it is great for exotic cars

I know the gentleman you are speaking about, and actually his whole entire family.... I've seen the cars in person.
But, even though they're here - they're never driven of course. Very few people know they exist.
What I guess I meant - is Omaha is SOO conservative with money & "flashiness." I know people worth TONS of money in town and they buy "average/run of the mill cars." Sure an S-class Mercedes or 911 is nice, but if you can quite easily pay cash for a Veyron, Enzo, or LaFerrari, we are talking about two very different leagues (and you know this just as well as I do!) Sure, I know a few who have bought Bentley Conti GT's and although it's one of my fave cars it's certainly NOT very flashy... Omaha's exotics are mostly garage queens... Buy a poster if that's what you want!

Again, just SOO different from when I (or anyone for that matter I'm sure), travel to Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, Beverly Hills, Newport Beach, Scottsdale, Seattle, Dallas, hell even Chicago (Lake Forest, Gold Coast areas.) My second to last trip to Chicago a buddy & I saw & briefly talked to R. Kelly outside his recording studio and his driver in a Black Maybach was waiting to pick him up there. Seeing a car like that isn't too-out-of-the-ordinary for folks in larger cities, and I like that more commonplace environment of "wealth." I feel being in environments like that make a person strive to better themselves & succeed more so, in order to achieve a similar level of success. There is a bit less "drive" in Omaha, at least for me - if that even makes sense!! I mean, I like attention A LOT to be honest, but I think even *I* would get sick of the attention I got driving a Gallardo or 458 in Omaha, let alone a Murci, Aventador, SLR, Porsche CGT, etc. People always try to talk to you, photograph the car, etc. You know the drill, you've owned late-model F-cars...
And Yes, if I owned one in a larger city, I would personally drive & enjoy the car - as it should be driven, and as I know YOU do my friend - because I wouldn't stick out like a sore thumb getting gas or groceries, Lol. (P.S. I do not own an exotic for the record - I own None!)

Back to my original sentiment - it's nice to see more exotics in Omaha and more being driven, but the fact of the matter remains (in my eyes): most of the cars are very sparingly driven and secondly, lots of people who could easily afford simply do not buy. Some because they're not into cars, but some because they don't want to seem flashy/pretentious and want to be low key. As I'm sure you know, Omaha is known for it's conservatism. I guess that's one reason the economy is so good here.
But, Omaha is quite boring if you ask me - in all regards, not just exotic cars. It just doesn't have the electric vibe & energy like larger cities do. ;)
    Anyway, Cheers Red Menace!

I like Omaha. I don't know another city with a metro area our size, that has as many high-end cars as we do.

Kansas City's metro is about double the population of ours, and I wouldn't say their high-end car scene is crazy far ahead of ours. Usually at Fast Friday's, a few Ferraris (360 CS, F430, 16M, maybe a 550/575) and a Murciélago will show up, and the usual Porsches, NSXs, etc. Maybe a Gallardo. Their cars and coffee events are actually less impressive than Omaha's, but they've also been having them for less time. I know of one Enzo down there that is never driven, one Carrera GT, and one 918. We have an Enzo and two 918s. Used to have two Carrera GTs, but they're gone now.

I've been blown away at the last few cars and coffee events. 16M, 997.2 GT3, three 458s, Diablo VT Roadster, 991 Targa 4S, F430 Spider... stuff that wasn't out just last summer. Add in the various McLarens, 458 Spiders, Gallardos, etc. that we've all seen around, and I'd say Omaha is doing pretty decent. Maybe not Chicago, but not bad for just barely a million people.

There is one every Saturday morning, which I think has been stated in this thread three or four times now. HyVee, 156th & Maple, every Saturday morning from like May through September. The West Omaha one that I usually go to is once a month, and happened earlier this month.

Regarless, I didn't go to HyVee C&C on Saturday. I went to a show at Storz Brewing Saturday afternoon, then the HyVee charity show or whatever at 156th & Maple on Saturday evening.

Red 458, two NSXs, grey V8 Vantage, white GT3 RS, 997.2 Turbo S, and a black Lotus Esprit V8 all showed up to the HyVee show. All cars that I'd seen at various shows before.

Omaha is big enough that you will see at least one exotic a day if you really try but not so big that the cars become less special and more common.

On another note, I know since the end of March Nebraska has gained at least 7 new Ferrari's including Red Menace's.

The other nice thing about the people who buy exotics in Nebraska, it's 95% of the time true car enthusiasts. That being said, you aren't going to find some aspiring rapper or sports star destroying a perfectly good Lamborghini or Ferrari with tasteless attention seeking mods.

Finally to drive my point home, they made a total on 81 964 Turbo S's, there was two here with one still remaining. Not to say that each city doesn't have there own little niche cars but that's pretty impressive for any city.

    You nailed it.

I can afford a Ferrari, I just don't, I drive the typical silver Honda Accord and it suits me fine.
I ALMOST bought a Testa Rossa in 2009, then the stock market crashed, luckily I pulled out
before it did, but I am simply hesitant to spend now, mainly because I am not that far from
retirement. But maybe, just maybe, one of these days...

I always recommend following the financial path that suits you, but to be the devils advocate, I had that same thought process and then, I just jumped in with both feet. I can't imagine not doing it now. I know way to many people who are waiting for the right time, and it never comes, and they don't experience one or more of life's great joy's, not just Ferrari ownership, but doing something they are passionate about. In the past few years, I have been close to life ending and changing events, and it really puts things in perspective, NOTHING is guaranteed in life, and tomorrow isn't promised. If, it will not put you in financial hardship or strain, or however one want's to say it, I suggest enjoy life and the things that make you happy. Tomorrow may never come, I'm not saying that to be morbid, it's just a fact. And besides, think how much appreciation you would have gained if you would have bought that Testarossa in 09! :) All the best!
